When Jason Reding Quiñones was hired in 2018 as a federal prosecutor in Florida, he flunked out of the office’s boot camp for new hires and left the office in 2024.

A year later, President Trump tapped him to lead the U.S. attorney’s office.

I don’t know why I’m fixating on this particular detail but I appreciate that the “doctor he trusted” (🚩🚩) didn’t even do his/her own scan. The doctor was like “no don’t worry, no need to come in, I can make my diagnosis based on these pictures in the newspaper”.

Whatever you may think of Wilson, this criticism is just in *hilariously* transparent bad faith. It’s implying that because she doesn’t own a house or drive, she’s unfit to govern (??), although the last sentence could be repurposed to say that it’s improper for a city government to pay for roads.
You guys realize that taxing people to pay for services isn't socialism, right? This is just how governments work.

Ralph Nader sucks absolute ass. On a related note, I graduated high school in 2000 and many of my classmates voted for him. Not, thank god, in FL. (But in OR which was actually a contested state then.)
relatedly, ralph nader deserves to be remembered for the rest of time as someone who voluntarily assisted in a critical attack on american democracy, the importance of which far outweighs any of his consumer advocacy

We’re running back “I’d be happy to release my tax returns but I can’t bc they’re under audit”. It was transparently horseshit of course, but most Americans were too dumb to care, so he figures it can be made to work here too.
He’s definitely decided to block their release by claiming it’s all evidence for his cases against Democrats

They really are going with immaculate asymmetry of tariffs, which didn't raise prices when they were imposed but will cut them when they're withdrawn.
KARL: Tariffs have been removed from some food items. How soon do we expect prices on those goods will go down?

HASSETT: The prices for those goods weren't necessarily going up just because of tariffs

KARL: So they might not go down?

Another way to put it:

If you're a child sex predator or drug trafficker or mafioso, you love Donald Trump because he's eliminated all the cops whose job was catch you.
Trump is not tough on crime. He reassigns expert law enforcement in areas like child sex trafficking (imagine that) to immigration enforcement where their skills aren’t as relevant, making us more vulnerable to crime
“Homeland security agents investigating sexual crimes against children…have been redeployed to the immigrant crackdown…hampering their pursuit of child predators…efforts to combat human smuggling and sex trafficking have languished…”

This. Yes, there are many good people in southern states are in awful circumstances due to forces beyond their control. But it’s total bullshit to say that they are only governed by assholes bc of voter suppression or whatever. They’re governed by assholes bc most of the voters there are assholes.
this take gets annoying as a southerner. you should not give up on the south, but no, it is not red because of voter suppression or a lack of funding for dems. doug jones raised shitloads of money and lost. it is red because the overwhelming majority are extremely racist white conservatives
I understand why a lot of white liberals are like, fuck the south, because they think about the people in power who are mostly white conservatives. But that is only because of Jim Crow, voter suppression, a lack of real funding for Dems there

Dang I wish I could understand what Young Kim is upset about, so that we could consider whether the complaint has any merit. But that’s impossible because, as wise Chief Justice Roberts taught us, it’s just meaningless sociological gobbledygook.

It is genuinely bizarre how many people who seem to outraged by all injustices against all human beings also seem to be entirely unbothered by anything people do to animals for food.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
