There is a tremendous opportunity for a brand new generation of media outlets to rise up right now because many news outlets that spent decades painstakingly building their credibility are seeing it torched by bootlickers with incredible speed.

Important thread on the reality that "Debate me!" is always cringe and useless but it can also be downright dangerous.

And it’s already pretty fucking bad!

Amazing! This location plus the new one coming at Gerard and Sackville will make for two great branches. Love this for the neighborhood.

EVERY house we looked at in altadena had a high fire risk, so we looked and bought in Pasadena even though there was less inventory. EVERY house i looked at in Altadena burned in Eaton, four weeks after we closed. Eaton missed our house by five blocks.

the risk rating worked. shame it’s gone.
Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

We warned you that self-driving cars would just create self-driving traffic jams, and here they are.

The car industry has no solution to the shortage of space in cities. Public transit, cycling, and walking are all part of the answer, but cars are not.

My parents bought their first home for 11,000 pounds (approximately $20,000) in 1974. It was an ordinary small row house on a dour street in East London. Now, more than

Almost all of that housing was built by “the market.”
