I left twitter long ago but stuck with more free alternatives until now.
I am a liberal (not neo) and post about bikes, magic, politics and urban policy.
Still exploring

Also known as @Teklord in City of Heroes.

I don't identify where I live or work.

Remember this as Trump and Big Tech lobbyists try to block AI regulation at both the state and federal level.
EXCLUSIVE: We found that Instacart is using AI algorithms to charge customers different prices for the same items.

It's not just online. It's in physical grocery stores too.

Our months-long investigation with @consumerreports.org and @groundwork.bsky.social found it could cost families $1200/year.

no where in this story about crime on the cta does it mention that crime on the cta is down.

i feel like maybe that would’ve been helpful context for readers?

China was the largest export market for American farmers in 2024. They bought 27 metric tons of soybeans last year. They stopped buying in 2025 when Trump started his trade war. These are simple, obvious, basic facts. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Leavitt: "President Trump convinced President Xi to continue purchasing again American soybeans, which is something China wasn't doing under the last administration because they had no respect for President Biden or the country at the time."

the democrats dont even bother to make strong affirmative statements about real things
I don’t want Dems to start making bald-faced ‘we’ve always been at war with Eastasia’ lies about recent events but it would be informative to see how the press would respond.

These motherfuckers at the trib are BEGGING for murders to not be the lowest on record. They're sick. I look forward to the day the trib shutters, it'll be a huge win for normal people who live and work in Chicago.

"slain?" fuck off forever you worthless nazis.
This is how you write a headline when you wanna make "murder is way way way down, never been downer" sound very scary. Editorial tips for brownshirt journalism from the trib.

Rand Paul on his healthcare plan: "What if you could join Costco? Costco has 44m members and if one person negotiated for all 44 and they bought a group plan like Toyota or General Motors does, they would be the largest collective entity in the country. They would drive prices down by sheer might."

My mom called restaurant where my niece and her boyfriend were celebrating anniversary and asked host to charge her card instead and treat them to mocktails. You can tell my mom lived in another age, because of course after being assured they would do this, they did not, and she went full Karen.

I see this on Cummins Highway where the bike lanes were plowed and the sidewalk was nice and the folks walking to Stop and Shop just walked in the bike lane after a snow
Plowed protected bike lanes show how transformative #PlowTheSidewalks could be.

On streets like Milwaukee with plowed protected bike lanes, there is an alternative when a business shirks their legal & moral responsibilities after a snowfall.

I could buy a $12,000 bike every year to equal the average annual cost of car ownership. $3,500 is a helluva deal.
Who the F needs a $3,500 bike?
A Seattle Times editorial board member had his $3,500 bike stolen, immediately called the King County Prosecutor's Office (because his bike is so expensive, "it's a felony," he noted), then concluded that police need to spend more of their time tracking down bikes stolen and used by homeless people.

People often want simple answers to the question of why transit is worse in North America (US especially) than other places. A transit agency voluntarily slowing it’s trains down for dubious “safety” benefits, as the government bans speed cameras says a lot.

hey a fun thing is that if congress is delegating authority to an independent agency then by definition that agency is not "unaccountable." it is still accountable to congress. and it is interesting (read: extremely frustrating) to me that these people just write congress out of existence here.
Kavanaugh: Broad delegations to unaccountable agencies are dangerous for individual liberty! We have used the major questions doctrine to prevent agencies from overreaching.
