The argument against this is that the protests are less rowdy at broadview, but Ice just exported their rowdiness to neighborhoods, deploying teargas whenever they get their feelings hurt.

At best this is a zero-sum move and at worst it's just handing ice taxpayer funded resources for free.

Yes, as soon as isp landed at broadview, ice got way more active in neighborhoods. Not something that really gets reported on in the paper though. But it 100% is what happened. Pritzker is helping ice raids by doing crowd control at broadview.

nota bene for 10/18: the June 'No Kings' rally in Chicago was so much bigger than expected that CPD couldn't really keep up a containment perimeter around it, they barely even tried. mull this over however you want

my least favorite part about biking in the rain is not getting wet or the decreased braking power or any of that shit, it's drivers get WORSE and do more dangerous shit than when it's nice out.

please fund transit so I don't have to spit on cars

I keep a garbage bag in my bike bag for when I need to keep stuff really dry 👍

I am not a reporter. I can tell you that isp is filling positions for ice (crowd control) that frees up resources for ice to tear gas people in neighborhoods. That is what is happening.

I don't think it's even complicated enough to warrant needing a deeper explanation if I'm being honest.

The only person in the theater who loved Willa more than the theater.

One Battle After Another was so good. Cannot wait to rewatch it.

As an avowed Leo hater, I simply have to hand it to him. He crushed it and was super endearing in this.

Resistance Grifter: Pritzker set these thugs loose on Chicago by running interference for them with his own goons at their staging area in Broadview.
Illinois State police putting the boot on protesters in Broadview. Illinois State police putting the boot on protesters in Broadview.

Ice's most violent day was when isp started doing crowd control for them and they've only escalated further since. Pritzker did that.

That thread is like if you could get high off fart smell.

Yeah. The best route between Bridgeport & Lincoln Park rn is Loomis, squiggle up to Ogden to get to elston, then division over to Halsted.
maniccage.bsky.social
Really cool how Google maps bike directions don't show the Halsted bridge over the Chicago River being out. 👍

They literally tell you what to wear and you come out looking like the most insufferable cabbage patch kid.

The first story I ever wrote as a reporter was about a racial solidarity bike ride through this neighborhood after police killed George Floyd. We stopped along the way at sites of environmental pollution neighbors are still fighting to have decontaminated. There are no words for this evil.

at this point it would be interesting journalism if someone could locate a Young Republican groupchat that was not full of overt Nazis
