This is a nice sentiment but I would actually prefer it if more of the political reporters we already have did their jobs
I have echoed this sentiment many times because of Jason (and @hollyanderson.bsky.social and @janecoaston.bsky.social and so many others) that reporters with sports background are UNIQUELY AND SPECIFICALLY qualified to cover politics/the news and should do so more).
It’s often said that too many political writers cover politics as if it’s sports. Actually they cover politics as if they are bad at covering sports

Same vibes with the Penrith Panthers chocolate soldiers or NZ cricket's beige uniforms - the worse the team was, the more retro kitsch it has on the comeback
Now we think of the Bucs creamsicle uniforms as cool throwbacks, but you have to remember that when the Bucs changed their uniforms, it was because the creamsicles were totally identified with the really horrible 80s Bucs teams. There was a reason they wanted a change.

Beers of any kind only need to be served cold if they don't taste good. A mouthful of nutty brown is delicious when served body warm. If you find yourself looking for ice cold beer then your problem is bad beer not refrigeration.

Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice
My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.
