This is my buddy Pico. I cannot stress enough how "the absolute best" he was.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are highly susceptible to a type of cancer called histiocytic sarcoma, at around a 20% rate.

It came up so suddenly and tore him from our life. I'm not sure I'll ever recover.

Love your beasts.

There is an extraordinary sense of reductive bullshit behind the presumption that lefties demand 100% ideological alignment to win our support.

What we demand is just *actual* opposition and resistance to fascism, rather than voting alongside them and giving in to whatever they want, like Dems do.
There is an extraordinary sense of entitlement behind the belief that there ought to be political party that aligns 100% with your own opinions.

WHAT SHOULD I HAVE FOR BREAKFAST:
- the rest of my wife's thanksgiving leftovers plate (leftover leftovers. requires theft.)
- throw a jar of canned peaches and frozen blueberries into a slurry of pancake batter and bake until done (requires time and effort)
- leftover steak from like a week ago

I simply cannot get over the absolute atrocity that is the (estranged) husband's statement. Just.. what the _fuck_. What the absolute fuck is wrong with you, as a person, to say something like that? Holy FUCK.
"A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts."

Someone just suggested that Orwellian is overused and like... no?

It's not even used half as much as it should be! Signs of Orwellian authoritarianism are quite common, actually!

Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

Authors, I'm sorry, but I will absolutely pirate your old fantasy paperbacks that are no longer in print and cannot be found. I would love to just pay you for them, but the system is working against me.

I am not going to stop, please send me an address to send you the 7$ or whatever.

I will sing ozempic's praises but I also will acknowledge it is all kinds of suck too. I am on like one of the lower doses and I still can't take it on a weekly cadence unless I want to be violently ill.

Still! It's nice having these chemical signals! Hormones! Fuck yeah!
not everyone needs it, but having it has made me realize that I have never once in my life felt "sated", only so full that my stomach physically hurts.

it's amazing having your first hormone signal "hey bruh you don't actually need to eat the rest of that sandwich, you're good".

I have just run up against the main problem concerns re: calling your partner "honey"; to wit, I requested she pass me the honey, she looked at me in bafflement waiting for me to say something else.

Nice.

Honestly, I'm a deeply antisocial person! I'm always convinced I'm doing the wrong thing, upsetting people and taking up space that shouldn't be taken up by the likes of me.

Of course, that's also why I wouldn't want to take a waymo either.
One of the myriad reasons I despise Waymos is that they are *deeply* antisocial. Instead of building safe and reliable mass transit, we're given hermetic pods that increase congestion and cause wear and tear on the infrastructure we all pay for.
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

I love fine dining and have eaten at a number of Michelin star restaurants. I've had some truly extraordinary meals! I absolutely consider myself a foodie.

Sometimes I eat kraft mac and cheese and hotdogs and I *like* it. I kinda hate when people can't get out of their own way and just enjoy stuff.
Is it not enough to just enjoy things without worrying about greatness? Not everything needs to be talked about in hushed, worshipful tones just to enjoy it. I mean, Pacific Rim is no one's idea of The Greatest of Movies but I still will watch it 1000 times out of 1000 and be happy as shit about it

What if we held oil companies directly accountable for any illegal wars held on their behalf after the fact? Like we clearly can't keep republicans from going to war on their behalf, so what if we just... fine them a couple hundred billion dollars afterwards and pay reparations for invading?

I have no strong opinions about star wars and I have not since I was let down so much in phantom menace. I'm glad for everyone who is happy and I'm sad for those who are not, or whatever.

Yesterday my brother, 10 years younger than I, ate shit when his new socks didn't play nicely with the hardwood floor.

I'm darkly amused at how he's finally realizing the curse of the thirties body has come upon him in full. No longer can a tumble just be a tumble, it is now A Whole Ass Thing ™️
