Corporate greed among Canada’s grocery monopolies is what’s really driving up food prices.

As food inflation continues to reach new highs, Loblaws, Metro and Sobeys have recorded profits of $4.3-billion.

Quebec families can expect a $1,000 increase on their grocery bills this year.

Maybe the problem was never the violence in video games but the general glorification of military conquest fantasies centered around the "war on terror"
I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

In the Emily Holmes' original "tetris can help reduce PTSD" study, what was found was that tetris is an activity which busies the part of working memory called the visuospatial sketchpad: imagining the rotation of shapes.

Tetris used to prevent post-traumatic stress symptoms
A single dose psychological intervention, which includes using the computer game Tetris, can prevent the unpleasant, intrusive memories that develop in some people after suffering a traumatic event.

It really is incredible that the average decent American is seemingly orders of magnitude more courageous than the people in public office who aspire to run the fucking country

Message to fellow journalists (and anyone claiming to be one): do not “police-involved shooting” executions in broad daylight.

Obfuscating language like that is completely journalistically unnecessary and, even worse, sanitizes reality.

Words have meaning. Use the right ones.

I watched the video and pretty much everyone is representing it pretty much accurately and I don't think you need to watch it if your takeaway is that a bunch of ICE guys were on top of a dude who they were beating and then one of them decided to shoot him at point blank range for no obvious reason

ICE has now carried out two summary executions of innocent people in the streets of an American city.

If you work for ICE, there's no denying that's the mission you're supporting now. You don't get to claim in one year or ten or twenty that you didn't know what ICE was doing. You're complicit.

the video of another person being murdered by the state on the streets of minneapolis shows exactly what people are saying it shows. make your own choices but don’t feel like you are obligated to bear witness to it. reading a description is enough.

A man told me yesterday that it was important to "take emotion out of the equation“ when analysing the situation in the US, at which point I told him very calmly that "a woman who disagrees with you is not necessarily emotional".

Ladies, it was a breakthrough.

I should have done this years ago.

It is a useless fear, based on ignorance and cruelty.

Trans people are not responsible for a single one of the problems we face.

FYI Canada has over 368 billion in US Treasury Bonds

If more markets sell off the US bonds, which means higher inflation, higher costs, higher debt and recession in the US
