The First Law trilogy. Then the standalones (a western, a war movie that could be among the best ever, and a revenge flick.) and then the Age of Madness trilogy. Paul giamatti as Sand dan Glokta.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Y’all I’m really enjoying the pie discourse.

We have to do more ridiculous shit like this.

We can’t just torture ourselves and each other all day every day with trauma.

It’s good to sometimes have some silly fun and remember that happiness still exists and we should fight for more of it.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and also I didn’t get the “like the back of a Volkswagen” joke until like ten years after I first watched it.

I like that 26% of people think we still might be more advanced than a society that had sorted out interstellar travel.
Americans say if we encountered aliens, it’s likely they would:
Be far more technologically advanced than humans 74%
Want to stay hidden from humans 66%
Be able to communicate with humans 50%
Come in peace 43%
Unintentionally harm or kill people 43%

They could make cars more affordable by allowing makers to bypass dealerships and sell direct but the Republican Party’s financial health heavily depends on auto dealers.
Exclusive: Republicans plan to challenge vehicle-safety mandates, such as automatic emergency braking and alarms that remind drivers a child is in the back seat.
Senate Committee to Challenge Auto-Safety Mandates That Hurt ‘Affordability’
Republicans are questioning the value of some features, such as automatic braking and rear-seat reminders.

There are no “good” or “bad” foods, there are only foods one likes and foods one doesn’t. And then there are foods that belong in hell, like stuffing with celery and raisins in it.

I simply do not like many of the Thanksgiving staples. It’s not that I’ve never had good turkey, or cranberry sauce, or yams, or green bean casserole. It’s that I don’t like them, and I especially don’t like them lukewarm. Mashed potatoes and gravy are great and so is pumpkin pie though.

CHOTINER: you only allow your 10 year old child to watch age-appropriate tv, is that right?

ME: yes

CHOTINER: but I see here that she has routinely watched Hazbin Hotel, a cartoon in which one of the main characters is an ex porn star

ME: well, you see, i simply didnt know

CHOTINER: didn’t know?
CHOTINER: so it’s your assertion that YouTube kids doesn’t work after dark?

ME: that’s correct

CHOTINER: interesting

* You know how Van Halen had a contract rider demanding bowls of M&Ms with the brown ones removed?

They later claimed that was all a test to make sure venues were reading their contracts. Clever!

BUT WAIT, that claim itself is actually false. I fact-checked it.

It’s fun to think about how angry Rush Limbaugh would be at the number of black quarterbacks in the league these days. But it’s even more fun to think about how Rush Limbaugh is dead.

Argue about 2 through 99 all you want but number 1 is Airplane! and there’s absolutely no debate to be had
The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!
