She missed her calling, really. If anyone's encountered eldritch horrors beyond human comprehension it's Olivia Nuzzi.

Hell, she's sexted with them
I’d love to see a Nuzzi-fied version of “The Call of Cthulhu”

This is exactly what the bosses who put Trump into office were trying to achieve. Crushing the tight labor market from the early Biden years that gave workers - for the first time in my adult lifetime - leverage over their bosses.
NEW

US labor market flows remained sluggish in October data released this morning, as hiring slowed to nearly the lowest level since early COVID

The hiring rate fell to 3.2%, layoffs rose to 1.2%, quits fell to 1.8%, and job openings rose to 4.6%

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

Listened to the two songs released on this album and they hit me right in that strange emotional space in my heart where the original Autechre songs burrowed in decades ago, but the acoustic guitar struck with an odd emotional punch like it’s from an alternate timeline where this was the real song.
I’m ecstatic to announce my new double LP, Autechre Guitar, is now available for preorder from Bill Orcutt’s Palilalia Records. Ten songs by the English electronic music duo, Autechre, transcribed and arranged for solo acoustic guitar. 🙏 🟩

ReoLink is great. Highly recommend if you are in the market for home security that is not being fed to some corporate databank
Repeating this one more time:

If you absolutely need home cameras and doorbell cams and such, Reolink devices can function 100% without any access to the internet.

Combine that with a Home Assistant server and the only one who can see what's on your cameras is you.
remember that your ring doorbell starts using face recognition on every face it sees today :)

capital believes it has invented a mill which turns the labor of their workers into more capital, and that they can own it
And to expound on point A I find the use cases of producing a post-truth society and displacing human workers from jobs that need a human touch (i.e. the arts) the most insidious
the problems with AI are, in order:

(a) what people do with it;
(b) what it does;
(c) the power it uses;
(d) everything else

Seems like they had a source in the chat & not that they’re able to hack into signal or get the records via warrant. Important distinction for organizers & guardian article should’ve made it more clear.

They are spying ON ORGANIZERS, not just the signal chat. Understand how they will come after you
WHOA. The FBI was/is spying on a Signal chat for a New York immigration court watch group, claiming they were “anarchist violent extremist actors.”

Your reminder that the government is watching and don’t say anything in a big group chat you wouldn’t say on TV.

It's no secret that 2025 has given Americans plenty to protest about. But as news cameras showed protesters filling streets of cities across the country, cops were watching those streets through different lenses: Flock Safety license plate readers that tracked every car. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

The thing about Americans basing their entire identity around what they consume is that it's susceptible to changing fads. Trump, as a branded name, was made for this moment. That said, it feels like this right wing fandom is peaking now. At some point, people will be bored with all of it… I hope.
NEW: For months, my colleagues and I dug into YouTube's conservative airwaves and found a flourishing network of host-read ads on right-leaning podcasts. This phenomenon has enriched hosts, YouTube, and businesses that use ideology to sell. bloom.bg/3Kaio9w
