One solid way you can fight back today & everyday is to look out for your neighbor, & not just in theory. If you’re in LA, someone in your building probably needs a mask. Someone living outside probably needs a meal. That person being stopped by the cops needs someone to record what’s happening.
pplscitycouncil.bsky.social
The way forward is the same as it’s always been - organize your neighborhood, your household, your workplace. Nobody is coming to save us except ourselves. Look out for one another.
riccisergienko.bsky.social
We Aren’t Talking About The Same Thing… much of our discussions about actions & the path forward are simply just people talking past each other. Who are *WE* trying to reach? Our goals are different. It’s not about a singular protest. It won’t click for comfortable liberals pushing pacified reform.
riccisergienko.bsky.social
you know nothing about me and you made that statement because you’re a liberal prick, not due to the considerations made about my beliefs or abilities. stop lying to yourself. giving hard phony intellect vibes, man. very sad.
riccisergienko.bsky.social
“they want to..” in the context of their desires & us having the opportunity to stop their desires

“they’re going to..” means nothing we do will stop them.

you are an English teacher. Come on, man. I said I was going to log off but looked at your bio & had to make this point. You know better.
riccisergienko.bsky.social
you asked about black bloc tactics. I said it was about safety. I was explaining my point. Like I said, don’t be so incurious. Liberalism is going to get us killed, brother. Can’t spent more time on this. Hope you continue your political education off of these apps!
riccisergienko.bsky.social
wait lol your whole thing was about propaganda and optics, not safety. surely, you understand that the peaceful compliant route is not about “safety” considering people are being shot at and beat up by the cops, right?
riccisergienko.bsky.social
the courts & the state won’t save us 🥲
riccisergienko.bsky.social
black bloc is a tactic to protect people. dont be so incurious! I at least understand your point and just don’t agree with it.
riccisergienko.bsky.social
yeah, why would want to make propaganda of people fighting back? We need everyone to know that we are nice peaceful people who will happily get beat up and won’t cause any harm. Surely this will bring people to our cause against the violent fascists.
riccisergienko.bsky.social
yeah you’re right, more propaganda about peaceful compliant sitting ducks getting beat up by the cops. surely this is what will stop the fascists from behaving like this in the future. public opinion turning against them means they will stop kidnapping our neighbors!
riccisergienko.bsky.social
there is plenty of propaganda made with black bloc tactics and direct action. I don’t get your point? Or are you conflating liberal optics to be the only form of effective propaganda?
riccisergienko.bsky.social
surely doing permitted parades and not pushing too hard will stop them from doing that. you’re right.
riccisergienko.bsky.social
they don’t care about optics. They want to kill us regardless.

People treat black bloc as an offensive, violent presence at protests. It’s a defensive tactic that obscures people from surveillance that’s valuable to non-violent protesters. It’s also useful against far-right agitators who seek to dox people.

no permits. community self defense.

Something that I don’t think is clicking for folks is ICE = the police. The police = ICE.

No Kings protests are apparently “anti-ICE” but work with local police. Doesn’t make sense.

Listen to the abolitionists, not liberals.

LAPD literally attacked “peaceful, non-violent” No Kings protesters in June. Lots of people were susceptible to attack because they were led there under the premise of “safety” and that the protest “wasn’t like the others. we are the good ones!”

The regime prefers you to be compliant sitting ducks!
LAPD Attacks “No Kings” Protesters in Los Angeles
Police used batons, tear gas, and “non lethal” projectiles to disperse “No Kings” protesters on Saturday.

“yeah we led everyone into the arms of LAPD after giving them our coordinates and details about where we’d be at what time, so what?” 😭😭😭

I recently brought this up and a local no kings organizer told me actually those people were there after the permit expired so i guess they deserved it

“Don’t take the bait” positions are counter insurgency & propaganda, meant to convince you that complying and operating under the tyrannical laws of the regime must clearly be the most dangerous and effective strategy against a tyrannical government.

Not only is this ahistorical, it’s endangering.
riccisergienko.bsky.social
you won’t beat us up if we get a permit, right? we are the Good Ones! 🥲

This happened at the last No Kings protest in Los Angeles. People were attacked by LAPD and the protest organizers did not have a plan to protect protesters. “Peaceful non-violent” permitted parades will not keep you safe from police violence. In fact, the organizers are working with the police…
