Honestly, this Trump post is a posthumous badge of honor for Rob Reiner.

Because if this is how Trump speaks about someone after their death, then they clearly did something right in their life.
Trump just posted this on Rob Reiner

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

I've got to say, this weekend, from students preparing for finals at Brown to Jews celebrating the festival of Hanukkah on Bondi Beach...it felt as if Yeats' awful vision were coming true:

"The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned."

Great piece by @vermontgmg.bsky.social on Trump's faltering push to make the US into a dictatorship. Too much there to summarize easily, so instead a shorter:

... be hopeful and continue to resist.

And while you're at it, read his piece from last week on Trump's health, which I missed ...
“.. We have shattered the halo that has existed around the United States for much of the world across the eight decades since World War II .. closing our doors to the world’s brightest .. by embracing corruption in government ..”

The impact of the destruction of USAID is so wide-ranging. We got a field report from one of the poorest states in India, where foreign aid funded "TB champions" who educate and assist tuberculosis patients. Without their help, advocates expect a 36% increase in cases & 68% rise in deaths from TB.
Losing India’s Guardian Angels - The American Prospect
USAID funding supported efforts to eradicate tuberculosis in India, one of the country’s deadliest diseases. Now, that money and support is gone.

It's good—very good, and very important—that district courts keep issuing these 100-page rulings upholding the law. It must be incredibly dispiriting to see them overturned in a two-page, lawless, unsigned order, but please, keep them coming. They expose SCOTUS' corruption like nothing else.
