When I read headlines like this, I find myself thinking back to the day that Chris Meyer bought 13 copies of Donald Shoup’s book The High Cost of Free Parking & gave one to each #Minneapolis city councilmember to persuade them to abolish minimum parking mandates.

Has anyone tried this in #Atlanta?

Not only that, @citizen-cate.bsky.social wrote a story about his latest mission: abolishing minimum parking mandates, statewide. Give it a read!

Just got a rent renewal offer in Marcy-Holmes with zero increase in rent through Aug 2026. Adjusted for inflation, my rent will have *gone down* 8-10% in real terms vs 2022 when I moved in. $795 in 2022 vs $825 in 2026.

Grateful to everyone who has worked on housing abundance here over the years!

This clearly fits within MPRB stated goals. Hoping the new board will make climate a priority and include actions like this as a metric of success.
Hopkins might take the lead on cargo bike libraries - the free exploring them as part of their new climate plan. Maybe we can learn from them.

The Founders were so concerned about bribery that the Constitution forbids it three separate times. Two emoluments clauses ban officials—unambiguously including the president—from accepting things of value, plus bribery is the only named impeachable offense besides treason.

Unprecedentedly corrupt.

Current board reopened what everyone thought was a settled issue, so let's do it again! We still have an adopted long range plan in place that supports doing the fiscally responsible thing.
This is @wedge.live area of expertise but iirc the current board only put the Uptown plan on ice, they didn’t kill it, but the delay maaaaybe killed the Met Council money?

You may not believe that new supply pushes down rents, but your landlord does.
New housing stops landlords from raising rents—take it from the CEO of AvalonBay, one of NYC's largest landlords:
"We're well-positioned… we face significantly less new supply. Land entitled for multifamily is hard to come by, the amount of time it takes to get those entitlements… sets us up well.”

Fab idea! his is the closest we'll get to a European plaza!
1. The street is VASTLY underused, inconveniencing few
2. It's WIDE, not a narrow shadowy north-south canyon a la Nicollet.
3. It borders a PARK, perfect ancillary use
4. Buildings are cute, would accommodate re-use
5. Cool skyline view!

I don't think @gavinnewsom.bsky.social understands he'll be writing his legacy with how he decides on SB 79. He entered office promising millions of new homes and he's close to leaving without having gotten anywhere near that goal. Signing SB 79 is the one serious step he can take.

I am sickened by today’s attack in Manchester. Antisemitism is on the rise around the world, and we must do all we can to stomp it out. I am grateful to first responders and congregants who showed incredible bravery, and I am praying for those who were killed.

This.

Nicollet should not be reopened to car traffic. I am still so mad about this and probably always will be.

This is making my neighborhood less safe. Nicollet is already part of the city’s highest injury streets & opening it at Lake will make it worse.
i iust think it’s antisocial to be eager to drive here, honestly. more vroom vroom streets going in and out of downtown where people don’t have to take the highway is really bad for people and street life
