Or at least comfort and slightly reduced stress levels!

OK, I haven't considered that some of the arguments I find myself in these days are coming from people who still think solar energy and battery storage are expensive.

Already the LCOE from solar+storage is cheaper than anything else.

Seemed like the obvious outcome to me since the sun is free.

FYI, we're already doing this at scale for car parts like alternators and starters which only cost a couple hundred bucks.

We're already doing it with lead acid batteries (it's almost a closed-loop recycling system now!) so we're absolutely gonna do it with other battery chemistries, too.
Again, this is the kind of thing which is already happening in the background at scale which people may simply not be aware of.

A whole lot of aftermarket car parts are actually used car parts that got wear items like bearings or brushes replaced, cleaned up, and re-sold.

Hey guys. When I limited replies, and I said I limited replies, I was really hoping y'all could follow through and not reply to the original post.

Two people already haven't understood the context of there being a joke above and have left angry comments, and people are thumbing them up.

@seancasten.bsky.social I want you to know this is something your constituent (me) genuinely thinks the democratic party leadership would do, all the while deluding themselves into thinking we'll be thrilled about it.

This is where I'm at. I need you to start saying things to people.
Democrats could probably get a law passed saying that verified troops with at least 4 years service and a national guard commitment must have their constitutional rights respected, or at least could require any violators take a 6-week paid training course on Troop Respect.

ICE and MAGA really did bet the farm on all of Minneapolis’s white people going “oh yes, please take away our disgusting, evil non-white-foreigner neighbors, oh thank you so much.”

it’s beautiful that they’ve been proven incredibly wrong about that - may the rest of the country do the same.

Tomorrow I got stuff to do and shouldn't be on here, so I'll be out of here for a day with this whole ~politics~ schtik

Keep on showing people stuff. Gotta break the trance

I believe speaker Mike Johnson was quoted as saying that ice is doing what it is designed to do...
I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

Yesterday, these incompetent fucks were just going door-to-door in a neighborhood near my house at 8:30 in the morning. School buses were driving through trying to pick up kids, people were out walking their dogs, and people were taking out their trash cans.

am I really not supposed to be worried about that?

should I really not be reminding people about that?

should I really tolerate a politician waffling back and forth about that?

should I?

It’s been reported locally, but I’m not sure how much national notice this has gotten. As part of this invasion by shithead goons, they are putting ICE agents in jetbridges and other parts of the airport at Minneapolis-Saint Paul. If you are flying Delta via MSP, you are putting yourself at risk.

At one point today, there were 283 Minnesota attorneys doing a training on how to file emergency habeas petitions to keep our neighbors from being shipped out of state and held indefinitely.

That would be the second largest law firm in the state. And that training was just put together this week.

And again, on the topic of rhetoric. Let's just go with this hypothesis and assume it's true.

You make a contingency plan.

Here's mine: I am signed up for permanent mail ballots. I get notifications when it has been sent. If it doesn't arrive, I will let everyone know and will vote in person.
My hypothesis is that Trump will demand the Postmaster General to refuse delivering and collecting mail ballots, which would make free and fair elections practically impossible in the Western states
the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?
January 15, 2026 at 5:46 PM
Okay folks, one thing you need to understand about social media is that in participating in it *you* are creating rhetoric.

My recent posts are trying to address that fact and maybe get you to think a little bit harder about what your rhetoric might encourage or discourage.
January 15, 2026 at 5:34 PM
It is important to remember this.

My ballots are printed and distributed by my *county* and the worse things get the more those folks at the county offices will become defiant.

Do not obey in advance!

Trump says a lot of deranged shit, but, per this Reuters article — and the threats of invoking the Insurrection Act in Minnesota this morning — he is very clearly exploring how to cancel the midterms.
