I don’t personally feel that way. In addition to the major new investments in public transit, in 2023 the legislature indexed gas tax to inflation and increased tab fees, to fund roads more with user fees and less with general fund. Certainly they could do more, but VMT was part of that discussion

For longer distances like commuting to work (50 minute bike ride for me) obviously that’s way more efficient, but for say going to Dinkytown, where it’s about equally convenient for me to walk or bike, I bike probably 80%, without any particular reason that comes to mind

I would but I don’t think I have any particularly strong explanation for it, just observing what choices I’ve made in the past

Hmm I think if it’s somewhere I’m familiar with I’d rather bike, but if I’m exploring I’d definitely rather walk, like if I’m in a new city or neighborhood I’d rather walk through it
