I don't own a car and have nothing to park, but I'm emotionally invested in the fate of this car that hasn't moved in weeks.

More than half of Toronto drivers in a Universtiy of Toronto study didn't look for people walking or on bikes before turning right. Study used eye-tracking tech.

Increasingly deadly vehicles, dumb laws, and irresponsible driving equal people being injured and killed.

finally, lame middle-aged left-wing parents have a candidate we can see ourselves in

The primary function of public transit isn’t to move people who can’t drive, it’s to move more people faster than cars. A properly designed transit system makes using transit more appealing to drivers. Slow and unreliable transit keeps drivers in their cars.
I constantly hear in some planning circles that "speed isn't a big issue for new transit", downplaying issues with our new LRTs.

and yet today i heard sooo many riders, young and old, ask "why is it so slow?"

"transit should be frequent, reliable, and FAST" shouldn't be a hot take!

Tarantino movies have always been deeply misogynist - I love a violent action movie but he pumps out a constant debasement & targeting of women w/ violence. As a teen during his heyday it was hard being told these movies were the best when I was always left feeling so uncomfortable.

This iconic Fabian Todorovic cartoon is still one of the best I’ve seen at illustrating the remarkable amount of space we surrender to cars, leaving little space left for everyone and everything else. The text added later makes the bonus point that many drivers still manage to complain about it.

Congrats on the Finch LRT opening today! Biked 35km round trip along the Humber River to check it out. should it have been built earlier, faster, and more cheaply? Yes! But it’s still a win for communities that have been grossly ignored by governments. #Toronto #FinchLRT #wintercycling #vikingbiking

Ontario premier Doug Ford banned Toronto from building new bike infrastructure that replaces car lanes.

Toronto's response: Narrow but retain existing car lanes, freeing enough space to keep installing bike lanes. (Better yet, narrower traffic lanes are safer.)
