Precinct 10-1 unanimously (with over 130 people) passed a resolution to have the official @dfl.org position be “DHS must be dissolved,” along with resolutions to mandate an eviction moratorium, bar ICE from operating in schools, and cut all funding for ICE while they are operating in Minneapolis.
If my caucus was any sort of indication, national Dems really need to wake the fuck up about what voters want them to do about ICE.

Mamdani Targets ‘Unusable’ AI Chatbot for Termination
Reporting from The Markup and THE CITY exposed how the bot, touted by the Adams administration, repeatedly served up false and damaging information.

I look forward to the establishment of a Wiesenthal Center-like organization dedicated to identifying and hunting former DHS agents so that they may be held accountable.

Another fact that people outside of MN might find hard to believe:

I cannot participate in any kind of observation of ice activities because they will put me in a database, and follow me when I make deliveries of supplies to vulnerable people, so they can abduct them.
A fact that's hard to believe for many people outside of MN:

I have to be vetted to join my local signal group that patrols our local elementary to keep federal agents from kidnapping students bc those same feds are infiltrating those chats to better target vulnerable people for abduction.

I don't think most reporting will to cover the scope of how people are fighting back until this is over. A good number of people are doing things that don't involve going outside and a very significant number ain't publicly saying shit about who they're helping and how

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

This is CRITICAL. I know you’re all putting your back into mutual aid & a thousand other great things, but if there’s anything left here, so many folks depend on these front-line lawyers right now.
I spoke to a friend on the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota board. They need financial donations to keep up with the heightened demand for their services: www.ilcm.org

ILCM is a nonprofit that provides free immigration legal representation to low-income immigrants and refugees in MN & ND

I think there's a point where you are so angry that you run out of mental space for fear, and I think a lot of Minneapolis and St. Paul were there, today.
I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

The issue, & not one @qjurecic.bsky.social has demonstrated in her reporting, is how the majority of the news media, politicians, & other elites & notables responded to & framed the attack on 6 January, how the attack came about, & its aftermath. 1/
my theory of Jan 6 is that nobody (except for a few weirdos) likes to think about it. from 2021-2025, the investigations/prosecutions meant that Biden was the guy who was making people think about it (which they hated). now Trump is the guy making them think about it and they also hate that
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“Tragically, America is still living in a political era that began on Jan. 6, 2021,” the editorial board writes. “Recognizing as much is necessary to bring this era to an end before it has many more anniversaries.”

Legal observers at the Whipple Federal Building witnessed ICE agents swapping out license plates in the ICE staging location. Masked agents who already routinely refuse to identify themselves are now swapping license plates at whim to kidnap our neighbors and tear apart families.
