Are you still massively against me breaking into your home and stealing all your stuff so I can sell it or have you moved more towards acceptance?

This is amazing.

As if "trading down" isn't an economic decision.
Hassett: "On one of the Sunday shows, the anchor criticized the fact Walmart said the Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper by about $10. Then he said, 'Oh yeah, but they substituted generic stuff,' as if having a generic something is a crime for ordinary folks! It shows how out of touch these people are."

This shameful event is one of the parts of American history I didn't learn in school and didn't hear about til I was an adult, many years ago. This article (and really any other reading you can do about Tulsa) is eye opening to the kinds of things that are 'hidden' from most of us.
The first time terrorists used planes to attack Americans wasn’t on 9/11 or at Pearl Harbor. It was the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 when white supremacists flew a dozen planes to drop turpentine or nitroglycerin bombs on Black Americans.

Viola Fletcher was there.

Viola Fletcher, Among Last Known Survivors of Tulsa Race Massacre, Dies at 111
Mother Fletcher's legacy will live on as the epitome of honor, courage, strength, and resilience in the face of violent terrorism, white supremacy, and cowardice

This. I'm done with the "I'm going to care about you whether you like it or not" attitude. If he voted for this, may his farm go under like many others' in the area. If he was on the Harris bandwagon, we'll raise the banner in his name.
I wonder who Steve voted for. I'm gonna need to know before I care.

This is called “chain refoulment” and it’s illegal under both U.S. and international law. And the State Department and ICE know very well what Ghana is doing and simply don’t care.
ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

While Trump is ordering the FBI to investigate U.S. Senators over a video reminding military members they don’t have to follow illegal orders, it might be worth noting that “I was only following orders” was rejected as a defense at the Nuremberg Trials.

American public opinion is largely generated by foreigners who make money by lying to Americans over unregulated social media. Out of respect to those entrepreneurial foreigners, we will continue to treat their commodified fictions as one side of a reasoned American debate.

The BBC removed a line about Trump being the most openly corrupt president in American history...from a lecture about the cowardice of today's elites.
I wonder if the BBC has heard of the Streisand Effect
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

The Mamdani discourse is a lot, but it reflects a general lack of Democratic leadership elsewhere.

With an inspiring Democratic president, powerful leaders in the House and Senate and a charismatic DNC chair, there wouldn't be such focus on the New York City mayor. We don't have any of the former.
Re Mamdani discourse I know some folks will not like hearing this but feels like the convo is becoming way too saturated. I really appreciate this guy and am marveling his win. And, I love New York but the world doesn't revolve around it.

How many more think pieces we will have to read? ...

The stock market's gains are being overwhelmingly driven by seven Big Tech companies who have invested heavily in AI, which has made tech oligarchs even wealthier.

But when that AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag.

Be warned.

🚨This will impact everyone.

It is not too late for congress to act.

They still have time to protect the ACA subsidies. They could also inveterate what the hell United Healthcare is doing.

CALL 202-224-3121
United Health wants its ‘swagger back’.

How? By dropping a million seniors from Medicare Advantage

Why? America's largest insurer wants to improve its profit margins, medical costs are skyrocketing because the GOP cut Medicaid and ACA subsidies.

This is something @ndrew.bsky.social has been saying for years… are we really going to subject our children to targeted harassment and physical inspections by agents of the state just because of a hypothetical scenario that would seem to be more like obvious cheating than sincere inclusiveness.
people get wrongfooted by terfs going “what if a man can just say he’s a woman and win the Olympics” but they will be a lot less sympathetic when that cashes out with “and that’s why the drunkest MAGA grandpas at the track meet are accusing your tomboy daughter of being a secret male”

I thought this exact same thing.
There is a story about two white men from Texas who were plotting to invade a Haitian island, k**l all the men, and enslave all the women and children there.

On the one hand, I'm glad that they got booked. On the other hand, I would've loved to have seen what would've happened if they tried.
