You know who *else* replaced simple, legible modern typefaces with traditional, hard-to-read lettering?
Mr. Rubio said switching back to Times New Roman would “restore decorum and professionalism to the department’s written work.” Calibri is “informal” when compared to serif typefaces like Times New Roman and “clashes” with the department’s official letterhead. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/09/u...

It says something about the conservative nature of politics in Australia to know that the Greens would never run on a (correctly) aggressive line like this.
Like, "labor supports child abuse" is actually pretty effective as an argument against them universally at this point. Not even just about the social media ban, but other stuff, like how they won't do anything to boost the welfare rate too. It all leads back directly to there.
I'd just be like "oh so you think more kids on 4chan is a good thing?"

The Australian government has decided that only when you are as mature and sensible as Elon Musk may you have a social media account.
It’s very funny to me that countries are trying to pass laws banning teens from social media until they’re older and can “handle it” as if the last decade hasn’t been about watching rich middle aged men nuke their brains on Twitter and then run the USA via shitpost.
Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice

This is expanding the transphobia issue a long way beyond its "acute" boundaries, but the BBC has pretty much always been shit. It got an unfair reputation for quality compared to US network news as BBC World got big in the noughties, but that's a really low bar.
