All the comparisons in the Oppression Olympics use American chattel slavery as a benchmark of depravity, but when Black Americans discuss WHY it’s a benchmark, suddenly the enslaved become ungrateful “migrant workers” & slave owners were benevolent products of their time, which is ancient history.
I personally do not feel comfortable using the phrase “Juan Crow,” except for as an illustration of how anti-Blackness functions
