This is a GREAT time to primary your “centrist” rep from the left in blue districts.
You know who really ought to pay attention the result in TX Sen 9? Democratic leadership in Congress.

Crying today over this reporting about the network of neighbors it took to get pads to a 12 yo girl who got her first period in hiding in Minneapolis www.npr.org/2026/01/21/n...
How an errand for a 12-year-old immigrant in Minneapolis became an underground operation
Some immigrants in Minneapolis have said they're scared to go out because of ICE agents across the city. When one 12-year-old needed to run an errand, it triggered a network of underground volunteers.

Made a fairly ugly loaf of challah today, but it tasted okay, and 12 hours ago it was just an idea and a collection of ingredients in my pantry. Shabbat shalom friends, let's keep bringing our ideas to life and shining light in the darkness

Okay, so for those of you who don't want to consume AI slop and listen to music via streaming services, sit back and buckle up because boy do I have a story for you... So to start things off, I've been a Spotify subscriber since forever (in addition to purchasing physical media). I've been hesitant

Since the right finds it so unrealistic that people would go out of their way to help their neighbors, I would love to see more stories like this! What are you and your neighbors doing for each other? Mine are helping each other clear snow, lending tools, dog-sitting, and sharing baked goods/meals
Heard a noise, looked out, my neighbor is chipping some of the ice on my steps for me 😭

Reports are that they were hanging around bus stops at the end of the day, and that some buses returned to the schools rather than drop the kids off and put them at risk. I'm FURIOUS but feeling galvanized after already seeing the community mobilizing to support impacted families and start observing
Michigan folks: Ypsilanti Community Schools confirm several parents taken into custody by ICE.

There should be a website where you can put in a list of the usernames of your old AOL/neopets/etc. friends and if any of them also put in your username the site lets you know there's a match and provides a messaging space to catch up (but stay anonymous if you want)

part of this is like, conservatives projecting; part of this is conservatives unable to imagine politics without money; and part of this is dudes who are so out of touch with feminized labor that they think children's birthday parties exist as a spontaneous act of parthogenesis
I mostly just stay off Twitter altogether but after double checking that the Walter Hudson post was still up I ran across this and just had to share so the Romancelandians who bought hand warmers could hear about the PROFESSIONAL GRADE LOGISTICS.

Mortality rates:

Mifepristone: 0.65/100,000
Penicillin 2/100K
Viagra 4/100K

Pregnancy in the US: 22/100,000 (some states see rates >60/100K)

More people have died in ICE detention centers already in 2026 than will die from mifepristone all year. These politicians are extremely dangerous to women.
Rep. Chris Smith: "The abortion pill -- mifepristone -- is baby poison ... we now know that the abortion bill -- we've long expected this -- is extremely dangerous to women" (this is a lie)
