This. A young person dies by suicide at the blatant encouragement of an Ai chatbot, and that parent company, OpenAI, has contracted with the 2nd largest teachers' union to provide guidance on Ai in schools?! It's outrageous. As an AFT member, I repeat my calls for @rweingarten.bsky.social to resign.

The director of student media at Indiana University was fired amidst a dispute between university leadership and editors at the Indiana Daily Student over what content gets printed in the student newspaper.

As director of student media, Jim Rodenbush did not directly oversee or have any say over the content published in the IDS, per a charter between the IDS and the university. But he told IndyStar his firing follows a series of meetings with IU Media School leadership in which it grew increasingly apparent they were expecting him to officially prohibit students from publishing news.

I get this feeling that those who are especially new to protest because of who is president think there was a "good"/gentler ICE, and now we're seeing "bad" ICE. I keep seeing comments that ICE doesn't have training like the police or military. Please understand it's all the same violent system.

Since 2003, ICE has operated violently under two Dem presidents; deportations, SA, terrorized communities, family separation. If we have a Dem majority, will liberals be willing to dismantle ICE & defund the police then? Or do they just want to return to Obama's ICE? What lessons are folks learning?

Adding to this that after more than a decade away, I'm now realizing that iTunes is shockingly bad. It's completely unusable. But, a good alternative is the CopyTrans suite if anyone is seeking an alternative to music, photo, file management.

The cloud storage grift is grifting. I didn't ask to put my stuff in your thing, OneDrive, and I won't be buying more of it. You too, Google. I've got a TB external drive and I'm going old school. I'm burning my CDs, downloading/printing my photos, and deleting all the things. Eat me.

There is nothing in your child's IEP that any private school must respect. This all but ensures your kid will not get the services they are entitled to by special education law.

Everything that it is possible to do to intentionally sabotage public education from the inside is being done.
