Y'all. Kelly Ward's estranged husband commented on this story on Facebook, and the whole thing is worth a read before you consider supporting Will Jones for anything, ever.
Let's start with how we all found out: it wasn't because Will wanted to "earn our trust," as he said in his interview with Donna Terrell. It was because Will, elite prosecutor he is, was too dumb to hang up the phone. That alone should disqualify him-but let me continue. I supported Will in the last election-here's the post I made at the time. I will not be supporting him in this one. Unlike police officers, who wear body cameras and operate in plain view, prosecutors work behind closed doors. They're the only people who can ensure that once a criminal is arrested, justice actually happens. We need to be able to trust them not just when everyone's watching, but when nobody is. What I've learned about Will Jones tells me we can't. Let me be specific: 1. He uses government jobs to get what he wants. Will helped Kelly get a job at the Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office when he was chief deputy and then hired Kelly as his own chief deputy after he got elected in Pulaski and Perry Counties. These two positions were not just jobs; they were the means by which Will maintained his access to and control over Kelly. This is a pattern, not a lapse, and it has never been checked. 2. What he cannot have in the light of day, he arranges for under the darkness of night. Shortly after taking office, Will announced he and my wife would personally attend every homicide scene in the district. Her phone would ring in the middle of the night, and off they went. They even got matching "crime scene" jackets and Will reportedly wanted blue lights installed on his government-issued vehicle. None of this is normal. It's not a TV show. It's a public office, and he used it to facilitate personal conduct. 3. He delayed coming clean to benefit himself politically. Will has known about this since he forgot to hang up the phone in my wife's hotel room on October 23. Almost a month has passed, and you are just now finding out. The reason is this: He needed November 11 to happen so nobody else could enter the race. He doesn't care about your trust, he cares about your options - and that you have as few as possible. And finally, here's what's maybe most revealing: I've known Will 27 years. He, Kelly and I all graduated from law school at the same time. I worked on his campaign. I endorsed him publicly. He took my wife of 24 years. He helped destroy my family. And I haven't gotten so much as an apology. He hasn't reached out. He hasn't taken responsibility. And that, too, is something the voters deserve to know. Now that Kelly is scrubbed from his campaign website and has "chosen to take another job opportunity," Will says he wants another chance, but we gave him a chance and he betrayed us just like he did his wife and ultimately mine. We all deserve so much better.

U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia has preliminarily enjoined about a dozen Texas school districts, including Conroe and Fort Worth ISDs, from displaying the 10 Commandments. They are to remove "any displays" of the Ten Commandments "presently erected" by Dec. 1

TX filing at SCOTUS will presumably focus on whether it is too close to the election season for courts to intervene, but the lower court addressed that, saying that if an injunction wasn't imposed it would "incentivize" states to delay before making big changes so there's no time to litigate.
