Since his socialist ideology was written out of the history books.. In his own words:

"If America does not use her vast resources of wealth to end poverty and make it possible for all of God’s children to have the basic necessities of life, she too will go to hell."

To be fair Southern Baptists lost the plot when they schismed from the wider Baptist church 15 years before the US Civil War because it had abolitionist leanings and they were a bunch of goddamned slavemongers.
Let me put this as plainly as possible: if you think that Christian discipleship is a set of rules about what you can and cannot do with your penis and/or butthole, you've lost the thread. Which is probably how you end up with a pastor who moonlights for President Pedophilia's secret police!
That congregation's "member affirmation" (which is THREE PAGES LONG - bruh the Nicene Creed is right there!) has a paragraph equating homosexuality with bestiality and incest, right between the paragraph on sin and salvation and the one on the church and sacraments.

NGL, the discussion about who gets grace and who gets forgiven for being on the wrong side keeps making me think of Gul Dukat's heel-face-heel turn in DS9, especially when nobody (but mostly Kira and Sisko) will give him a parade for no longer being The Worst or As Bad As He Could Have Been.

Oh come on.

These guys are not conscripts, there is no commissar with a pistol behind them looking for signs of wavering.

They can just quit at any time! They can quit today. They can quit tomorrow.
In an interview with @whitneycwimbish.bsky.social, Blas Nuñez-Neto wouldn't tell us his clients, but did say we should remember that ICE agents are people too. (Can't believe this quote below)

I think of it as the shovel test.

Because of your actions, I now have to shift a large pile of shit. Are you going to try to "manage" me or lecture me on proper shoveling technique? Or are you going to own up, pick up a shovel, and get to work?

Shovelers welcome. All others can fuck off.

WE KNOW GREENLAND IS STRATEGICALLY IMPORTANT AND THAT THERE ARE BENEFITS IN MAINTAINING A PRESENCE IN THE REGION. THE POINT IS THAT NONE OF THIS REQUIRES TAKING THE ISLAND FROM DENMARK.
The Arctic is warming around four times faster than the rest of the globe.

The changing landscape created a region ripe for opportunity factors that may play a role in President Trump’s sudden quest to obtain Greenland.
Melting ice may raise Greenland’s value. Trump’s fight may be just the start.
Trump has said he wants the territory because of its strategic location. Maps show how a melting Arctic is affecting geopolitics.

In Preservation culture, asking payment for anything considered necessary for living (food, power sources, education, the feed, etc.) was considered outrageous, but asking payment for life-saving help was right up there with cannibalism.

Brief operational term of art 🧵 to help better define what we're experiencing. What we're experiencing is state terror. I've seen a lot of terms thrown around for what the Trump admin is doing w/ICE, CBP, & other federal law enforcement (LE). The now largely out of use term is state terror. 1/

I have some bad news. One, if you need to use ChatGPT for your graduate application letter, you are not ready for graduate school.

Two, no, not "everyone is doing it" and those who don't do it aren't "losing out." ChatGPT is not an advantage.
An impressive number of graduate applications this year used the phrase “curiosity-driven approach” 🤔

As it is, they have absolutely no fucking clue what to do and they are getting run out of every situation they force themselves into.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Let’s talk about abolishing ICE.

Very few people who say “abolish ICE” mean “abandon all immigration enforcement.” Rather, they mean “the structure of immigration enforcement is irretrievably broken and needs to be reorganized, just like we did 23 years ago when we created ICE.”

This. Her body went into a spasm after she was SHOT IN THE HEAD, which is why her car drove into a tree.

Which is why him shooting her was the absolute last thing he should have done if he was actually worried she was going to hit him. (Which he absolutely was not.)
i want to add to this:

something i've not seen in the discussions happening: her car accelerated *after he shot her*, as a consequence of his shooting.

so if he's got a bruise, it's because of his own actions
they knew we'd clock "hematoma" for what it is
