Social media ban for kids are just going to drive them to dodgier websites, and make it harder for parents to keep an eye on their social media use.

This is insanely hyperbolic, but it is possible to get sick from getting too stoned, especially with edibles. Definitely far from the worst pain out there though, and the consequences aren't nearly as bad as getting blackout drunk.

An easy way to explain luddites:
Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.
And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

"Dream smaller" apparently means not wanting a liveable planet, basic requality in the workplace, an end to cartels, or even a state which has the economic resources to function properly. Its the message of a party and leader which seeks power for its own sake.

"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions
the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information

Always make sure you have non-alcoholic drinks to offer that aren't water too. As someone who doesn't drink, it's a real bummer when water is the only option.
Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:
Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.
If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.
Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.
