Saint Paul schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare for optional online learning.

I’ve seen schools close for snow, for pandemic, for natural disaster. I’ve never seen schools close because of threat from our own government.

they didn’t leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they don’t seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

2025 was brutal for games media, but I'm seeing some glimmers of hope as worker-owned sites like @aftermath.site, @rascal.news, and @giantbomb.bsky.social have carved out vital spaces in the games community.

Earlier this year, I made a huge Indie Games Media starter pack for y'all. Let's celebrate.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

Not working is not why people go hungry.

"approximately 70 percent of adult wage earners in both programs [SNAP and Medicaid] worked full-time hours (i.e., 35 hours or more) on a weekly basis and about one-half of them worked full-time hours annually"

Effective immediately, I will no longer contribute to Waypoint. I suggest letting VICE's owner know if this upsets you

Feel like I remember a very vocal, worryingly large, group of people that were pretty happy that Xbox was buying Activision Blizzard.

Wonder how they feel now that this inevitable news has finally come.

i am far too stupid to be weighing in on this but one thing i would stress is that gaming media’s collapse wasn’t an inevitable fact of life. it’s the result of very stupid people making decisions they could have just as easily not made

What's up with this growing sentiment that people should just shut up and watch a show through before talking about it? Online communities are dumb, etc

Isn't the appeal of some shows to sit around with friends and debate all your dumbass ideas every week?

The government is openly retaliating against anyone with a viewpoint it doesn't like: Pro-Palestinian protesters, law schools teaching Black History, pro-immigration public service loan forgiveness seekers.
