we are under an admin that is full throated in stating that e.g. "if you so much as joke about our legitimacy and supremacy, then you are are functionally a terrorist who deserves to be gulag'd" so i struggle to see how decorum of speech on a microblog is a serious issue to debate right now!

I was struck by a thought that honestly terrifies me: Isn't the CDC in Atlanta one of the targets of the DOGE cuts? Isn't that also where they're storing variola?

These threats remind me of something I've read about before, but I keep being told drawing parallels with 80–100 years ago is unhelpful.

I think what anti-SW people really object to about "sex work is work" isn't what it implies about sex work but what it implies about all other work

The clearest evidence to me that human brains have some irreconcilable differences comes from the popularity of the idea that the only button a microwave oven needs is +30 seconds and how that doesn't fit at all with how much I would hate such a microwave with a passion.
