The kids are actually not that stunted, be wary of the lure of “this generation” thinking for whatever reason—it’s all pretty much adults just getting old and forgetting what it’s like to be an adolescent because the only thing that really changes with each generation is the slang and the clothes
i like how the one example we have of mass scale homeschooling was the pandemic and it was a complete disaster that burnt out every parent on earth and resulted in half a generation being socially and intellectually stunted forever

It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

The fact that so many journalists rushed to her defense and fell for her con when she was posting this July 2024 and our big sweaty president looked like this—is pretty telling how seriously the industry takes reflection and criticism.

I think plenty of it speaks to the state of the media, but an obvious one is that Vox and Vanity Fair barely investigated her and that she managed to commit an unforgivable journalistic crime before getting a book deal and walking into another prestige job, while plenty of others are being laid off

It is absolutely wild to consider how many big name journalists ran to Olivia Nuzzi’s defense when her affair came to light claiming her work was in no way compromised—and now we are learning that indeed she was covering for him and his campaign later connecting him with the Trump campaign
