This thread is for my fellow migraineurs.
After contending with chronic migraines for over 50 years, and trying almost every treatment, I am finally almost migraine free. I typically get about 5-15 migraine days per month, so this is significant.

Concerning: for a high emissions scenario, the model found a 37% increase in daily extreme precipitation over land by 2100. “Much of the increase was driven by shifts in wind patterns that created chains of severe thunderstorms hundreds of kilometers long that traditional models fail to capture.”
My latest for @science.org: A remarkable set of high-resolution climate model runs, computed over 900 (!) days of supercomputing time, are revealing how warming-induced changes to Earth's wind patterns due can prime huge spikes in extreme rainfall.

But the MESACLIP runs also do much more than that.
High-resolution climate model forecasts a wet, turbulent future
With details as fine as short-term weather forecasts, model achieves newfound accuracy

Also the most convicted President in US history.

And one who has to pay cash every time he denies sexually assaulting Jean Carroll.

It’s as if these investigations keep turning up dirt.

Cults are bizarre. When the cult leader is also the national leader, tho, it’s pretty exhausting to live thru.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna: "We know that Mr President is clean. He's the most investigated man in US history. And definitely I'm frankly glad that those emails came out because it proved what we have been saying the whole thing."

The human user story is something like: “As a pattern matching primate I want to feel like the world makes sense so I pattern match so hard and fast that I don’t even know I’m engaged in ex-post narrative construction”

Myself included, much to my consternation.
The problem with relying on pithy observations like “history tends to repeats itself or rhymes” is that history is long and has many stanzas. It’s impossible to know in advance with any certainty whether tomorrow is going to rhyme with 2008, 1929, or the fall of the Roman Empire.

NEW: We traced out a devastating outbreak of bird flu to its source: an egg farm in Ohio. Where the wind blew, the virus followed.

Within weeks, the farms downwind were about 20 times as likely to see outbreaks as those that weren’t.
What the U.S. Government Is Dismissing That Could Seed a Bird Flu Pandemic
Egg producers suspect bird flu is traveling through the air. After a disastrous Midwestern outbreak early this year, we tested that theory and found that where the wind blew, the virus followed. Vaccines could help, but the USDA hasn’t approved them.
