This is fundamentally the transfer of compute-power as something a person can own, to something a person rents. Which is, you know, not good.
I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.

I’m going to keep sharing this PSA: although the MMR is usually given at 12 and 18 months, your baby can get a first dose as early as 6 months. They will still need the other two doses, because immunity doesn’t stick at that age, and insurance may not cover it. But it’s protection.

And just to be clear: just because some people are able to get good outcomes does not mean that they received due process. In many cases, the outcomes are very clearly in spite of being flagrantly denied due process.

In today's episode of AI is ruining the thing you love; Godot could really use some extra funding just to judge if something is slop because they're getting overwhelmed
Honestly, AI slop PRs are becoming increasingly draining and demoralizing for #Godot maintainers.

If you want to help, more funding so we can pay more maintainers to deal with the slop (on top of everything we do already) is the only viable solution I can think of:

fund.godotengine.org
Godot's GitHub has increasingly many pull requests generated by LLMs and it's a MASSIVE time waster for reviewers – especially if people don't disclose it. Changes often make no sense, descriptions are extremely verbose, users don't understand their own changes… It's a total shitshow. #godotengine

We need a swell of people countering the bot and bad actor fueled false consensus / narative

What's happened since he took office a year ago? Costs are up, up, up.

A child dying of cancer spent her final days fighting to free her wrongfully detained father from ICE custody.

This comes just weeks after a mother from Maryland was denied the right to be at her son’s side as he died from cancer.

Not one dime for this cruelty.

Criminality is so rampant inside CBP that it has seen one of its own agents or officers arrested every 24 to 36 hours since 2005.

The DHS funding deadline is tomorrow — and a bill can’t pass without Democratic votes. We need Democrats to keep holding the line by refusing to fund DHS without ironclad limits on ICE and CBP, actual accountability for abuses, and clear guardrails to stop raids and intimidation. Let’s get to work.

Rhetorial question but how is it ice's job to go after agitators
He literally says in this clip that ICE will keep in Minnesota “quick reaction forces” — a military term — to go after “agitators.” Remember that those on the ground in MPLS have spent more than a week trying to tell everyone that Trump’s prior “deescalation” was a ruse and ICE is still operational
Homan: "Operation Metro Surge is ending. In the next week, we're going to deploy the officers here on detail back to their home stations or to other areas of the country where they're needed."

This is a good outcome, but we can’t forget that it began with agents snatching Ozturk off the street and then holding her in overcrowded immigration detention, where she suffered multiple asthma attacks. All bc the Trump administration disagreed with her op-ed in the college paper.
An immigration court dropped its case against Turkish graduate student Rumeysa Ozturk, a little less than a year after federal agents arrested her on a street near Tufts University

Here's the thing - the price increase for one good, health insurance, entirely cancelled out my entire raise for this year, so every other bit of inflation cuts into my real wages. And I'm fine, right, but this is worth complaining about
I really don’t want to do another round of inflation discourse, particularly as a practicing economist, but like, this was $54. And, like, i’m not exactly splurging here. Store brand cheese and pickles? Crackers? Lunch meat? A pound of chicken?

An underrated good the next Democratic administration could do with virtually zero actual political blowback from voters would be to come in with anti-trust laws like a wrecking ball and break up media and tech companies. It would fuck up The Other Side, too.
Brendan Carr is also very excited for more local broadcast TV consolidation at the hands of the right wing!

You know, to improve competition, something Carr (who has rubber stamped every desire media and telecom giants have ever had) genuinely cares about
