For me, and this project specifically, the amount of Mac users is lower than Linux. It's just costing me money

Refunds are only possible if the software doesn't work as intended, as it's DRM-free I can't revoke access. Don't worry, there are no major updates planned for Asset Forge so as a Mac user you aren't missing out, and the software (with its 8 years of free updates) works as intended

Support for macOS is ending for Asset Forge, 2.5.2 is unfortunately the final release. Supporting that specific platform slows down all my other projects and progress in general. None of my new products will release for macOS or other Apple devices, it's simply not worth it.

Oh yeah don't rely on it for preservation, just saying that Apple removes everything if you stop paying

In all fairness, if you stop paying the yearly developer membership Apple will remove all your games - that won't happen on Google. It means there's more legacy content (good! preservation etc.), and they have to be a bit stricter on updating especially regarding security

Exciting news! ✨ Kenney Game Assets All-in-1 will soon come with a launcher application that bundles a few small tools perfect for common #gamedev tasks.

Currently remaking each model in the Graveyard Kit so there's more detail and the models are coherent and fit the other (newer) kits. It'll be released soon, for free, for everyone. #gameassets

You can just say that, it doesn't have to be all formal;

You may not redistribute, resell, or repackage the textures (modified or unmodified) as game assets but have to incorporate them in your product (game)

You're misinterpreting the difference between redistributing game assets as assets, and as a completed project. I'll leave it up to the creator, I've tagged them - they'll answer I'm sure

That's not what is meant by that, it means you can't redistribute the game assets as assets or graphical elements. However, you can use them in your game for commercial purposes too.

That's regarding the separate game assets, not when used in your game - they have to be included in your game files for use

If you're looking for retro textures I can really recommend @strideh.bsky.social's work! They offer three free packs and a premium one. They look really sharp, have a true Quake-feeling, can be used in commercial projects and were made without use of AI!

Yeah I installed 2017 which specifically asks for a license key (for which a modern seat one doesn't work). I'm now upgrading to 2020, which is working with the new Hub license feature

Oh right. Yeah but I promised free updates for the app, I'm working on a successor already but still want to provide support for the original
