Landry rushed to clarify he isn't resigning as governor of Louisiana and this will be, like, his side gig I guess. The state constitution explicitly bans state officeholders from simultaneously holding any federal office.
Trump says he’s appointing Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry as “special envoy” to Greenland.

Landry has previously expressed support for Trump’s plan to invade Greenland.

There was a serial killer of children back in the 60s in Britain named Myra Hindley. She was jailed in 1987, and every Home Secretary after that made a point of publicly announcing that she would *definitely* die in jail. She was not a popular person.
My hot take is that ANY movie series that garners this range of positive to negative opinions is doing something interesting whether people like the movies or not.

The worst sin a movie can do is inspire NO OPINION about it.
The truth:

1. Some people just generally don't like the Avatar movies and that's ok

2. Some people love the Avatar movies (like me) and that's ok.

3. There are people who can't accept that people can like/dislike different things from their opinion and that's just yawn.

I can *100% assure you* that if this report found that trans people & "wokeness" tanked the Harris campaign, the DNC would release it in a heartbeat
BREAKING: The Democratic National Committee will NOT release its long-awaited autopsy on Trump's 2024 win. The report is completed but Dem leaders decided it could distract from their winning streak, so it will remain secret. Not good.

Dem Leaders Decide to Bury Damning Report on Why Trump Won in 2024
The Democratic National Committee has completed its long-awaited analysis on what went wrong in the 2024 campaign. But in a move that will attract intense criticism, it’s keeping the findings secret.

Specifying that they're being forced to "waste resources" protecting incumbents is INCREDIBLY telling re: how stuck they are in their thinking: a primary that produces a new, exciting, motivating candidate is worth WAY MORE than anything your campaign funds can do for your "check-the-box" incumbent!

First time I got COVID in '22 it nerfed my mental arithmetic for months. I entirely lost the ability to add single digit numbers for 3 weeks. I'm *still* far slower than I used to be. Brain fog lingers, and I expect the prevalence of sub-clinical long COVID with CNS involvement is very high.

What is striking here, of course, is that no one was apologizing for being white at any point, outside of some very unusual academic hothouse environments.

What the experience as 'apologizing for being white' is actually just 'accommodating non-white people living as full citizens and equals.'
JD Vance: "In the United States of America you don't have to apologize for being white anymore"

I have discovered a fun bug in my package tracking app's mapping tool.

Now that there's a second Cincinnati event, it's completely dropped the Memphis > Cincinnati > Ft Meyers leg and is just showing it as Memphis > Ft Meyers.

I would like to articulate one of the BIGGEST misconceptions about cat breed genetics by talking about the NEBELUNG!

An extremely rare breed with only SIX(6) in the whole US, and no breeders, yet one that thousands of folk online are convinced they own.

Your cat is NOT any breed, and that's okay.

JD Vance married an Indian woman back when it was important for Republican politicians to show they're Not That Racist, and now the winds have shifted and he's trying to swap her for a blonde.
POV: Your spouse is neither white nor Christian but you need the support of people who demand both.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth this week ordered sweeping changes to the U.S. military's chaplain corps, with a plan to simplify a system that he said has become too focused on "new age" concepts.

I've been warning about this scenario for ~7 yrs. Safety drivers fix this in seconds. SFPD will prob have to drive this out of the way.

What a shameful question.

First, it is not what Congress "asked for." It is what a federal statute REQUIRES.

Second, WTF does "spirit but not intent" even mean?

CBS bent a knee and paid Trump, it has a new owner who wants to please Trump, and sadly this is the result.
BRENNAN: This isn't everything you asked for just yet, but would you acknowledge that they are complying with the spirit if not the intent of your law?

MASSIE: No. They're flouting the spirit and the letter of the law. It's very troubling the posture that they've taken.
