Today on Volts: I've had more requests to cover this than almost any other topic in the pod's history, so now, at long last, balcony solar! We dig into how "plug-in solar" took off in Europe & how it's making its way to the US, starting in Utah. Backyard DIY types rejoice!
What's the deal with balcony solar?
Cora Stryker joins me to explain how "plug-in" solar took Europe by storm and is finally, via Utah (?), making its way to America.

Just a reminder that in addition to Trump refusing to exercise because he thinks the body is like an alkaline battery with a lifetime store of energy so anytime you do anything you steal that energy and it cannot be recharged, he's also a germaphobe who is afraid of being poisoned.

This is stunning -- an absolute must-read: "if you measured income inadequacy today the way [it was] measured it in 1963, the threshold for a family of four wouldn’t be $31,200.

It would be somewhere between $130,000 and $150,000.

In the rough part of recovery: between the elation of successful surgery and the ultimate recovery and improvement on previous strength. Right now, exhausted but not in pain, moving sideways instead of forward, but medical team has zero concerns after checking me out. Time is the medicine I need.

As others have said, at a store my (not large) size: 2, or even a well-placed 1, will get on my radar.
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
