George was just trying to get to work.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

This man is a veteran and American citizen. Don't look away.

Oof. Not to be all "em dashes equals AI written," but, uh, it seems like AI wrote this.

Yes, all of this. Sending love your way.

For example, alt text for this image could be:
A poster with bold text reading "Block ICE" with images of six people sitting on the ground locking arms together while ICE officers stand behind them. There is a winged heart logo at the bottom, signifying courage, love, and solidarity.

I love that you're doing alt text now!! Thank you! It should be used to describe the image itself, in addition to any extra notes you want to add. Let me know if I can help!

New print from Nicolas Lampert in the shop! "Workers deserve respect, dignity and safety, not ICE terror. An injury to one is an injury to all." justseeds.org/product/bloc...
The heart on the image symbolizes the courage and love needed when people with privilege (those with citizenship) stand up to protect undocumented community memb

I can hear the roar of the crowd from my apartment every time the Cubs score.

ICE is not only chasing down every random brown person in Chicago, they have a cameraman following them to film this for social media. Cruelty and inhumanity as content.

I've done conferences and presented with a mask, but there I have more control over my schedule and how many people I meet.

Thinking about what it will be like to wear a mask while doing a full-day academic interview with presentation and dinner.

This is amazing work. Added to my Zotero library on the topic. Many thanks to the folks who have put in so much effort for this group and to the shoulders of giants in info retrieval research upon which we demonstrate utility for searchers.

Could you use help explaining the value of #cataloging & good metadata to your admin, coworkers, #MLIS students, etc.? Happy to share this set of resources put together by an ALA working group chaired by @magsjoy.bsky.social. All of these & more are available at hdl.handle.net/11213/22872. 📚
A flyer for a set of documents "Demonstrating the value of cataloging". Six folders are labeled "talking points for administrators, top 5 reasons why you need a cataloger, annotated bibliography, resources list & acronym cheat sheet, side-by-side comparisons of good administrators bad metadata, and introduction to metadata zine. At the bottom text reads you can find these resources at the link in the post, and they were created by the ALA SAC Devaluation of Cataloging Working Group, 2025.

The rumors are true: Boneshaker is headed to a new location! We need your help to dig up our bones and move on over to 26th and Lyndale. We're hoping to raise $15,000 total, $6k of that by 10/17. Learn more at bit.ly/boneshakermove and thank you for helping Boneshaker thrive!
Boneshaker Books is moving! Why move? While we love a lot about our current location, we’ve struggled with dwindling foot traffic, low sales, and expensive maintenance issues.

We believe our new space will offer resources that will allow us to exist more sustainably as a community organization for the long haul. How can I help? Our goal is to raise $15,000 total to fund the move, make some improvements to the new space, and build out our inventory.

Ultimately, we need at least $6,000 by October 17th so we can reopen in our new space at 708 W 26th St. by around November 1st. Donate and find out more about the move (and the cool perks you can get for donating!) via the QR code or URL below.
Thank you for helping Boneshaker thrive!

Ive spent so much time working with tech people doing tech things on tech deadlines. In the past few years my practice has turned to analog tools (print making, zines, drawing) in my own personal protest. 1/3
