Yeah. Yeah. I guess I've got to maintain some kind of willful ignorance about that fact while I'm interviewing for jobs because if I thought about how I'm pouring this much energy into what might be a lost cause I'll start screaming and never stop.

Yeah! Sometimes it's easy (or at least easy for me who's been doing this a long time), but sometimes the job description just lists a long series of (at times) inscrutable names of tools and standards, as a wish list. Like, I want to know when they're planning their next migration, &tc.

The candidate doesn't have to try to suss this info out through publicly accessible pages, old journal articles, etc. And perhaps more thoughtful conversations happen during interview days.
