Catalogers are there any ways to identify a book as being authored by a pretendian? Would that be useful. Should we move non fiction works by non-Indigenous authors who claimed to be to the fiction section? @violetbfox.bsky.social

Hello friends! University of Chicago is hiring 3 subject librarians. You deserve to be part of a lovely, adorkable workplace. Our library does outreach to the south side, we're trying all sorts of new things and the dean is absolutely a magic user of some kind. www.lib.uchicago.edu/about/thelib...

Once a week I get a notice that I'm still on the waitlist for full day public preschool. We went from 68th to 43rd pretty quickly. Now it just hovers it 43rd. Taunting me. I think we should just do a hunger games style brawl for pre-k. The adults obviously!

As a pre-popped corn enthusiast I endorse this article. I will say that I like the plain kind like a freak. I LOVE the skinny pop plain. Hell yeah. Also if you're looking for some cheese non popcorn food item I recommend Pirate's Booty. My son recently started eating it. It's pretty good.
Recently I realized that Smartfood white cheddar popcorn, the snack of snacks, did not taste as good as it used to. Was it me? Please accept my mad investigation into the recipe www.eater.com/24394718/sma...

I was in the Army during don't ask don't tell. And there were little army cops whose whole job it was to investigate possible homos. Nobody would cooperate with them at all and it was really funny. I hope everybody can keep that vibe now that we are going back to the 1860s.

I try to order every requested book because I KNOW that there is at least one patron who wants it. And we don’t get a ton of patron requests so honestly it’s the least I can do!
If you want to read a new book coming out but don't want to buy it, a great thing you can do is ask your local library to order it. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to acquire it and then lots of people will get to read it who othewise wouldn't.
