I am beyond excited (and nervous!) to announce that my first book, "The House Archives Built and Other Thoughts on Black Archival Possibilities" is available for sale!

This series of essay includes reworked talks, new reflections, and a lot of my heart

You may have noticed that folks who are from Chicago love this city. There's a reason for that. I walked to the lake with friends yesterday, and when I saw the waves rolling in, I felt something shift back into place inside of me. So many parts of this city are part of me. We will defend this place.
All of them look like the anus judge from The Wall.
UPDATE:

After WIRED reported on the spike in people joining the 'Leucovorin for Autism' group on Facebook, Meta deleted the group.

A source confirmed to me that the decision was taken to delete the group for "promoting prescription drugs"

A Facebook group set up to share information about leucovorin has been spammed by affiliate links and supplement companies trying to shame parents of autistic kids.

Not the first time a tyrant has been plagued by frogs.
Blessed are the frogs, for they keep making authoritarians look incredibly stupid
Three persons in inflatable frog costumes. One of them is holding a nicely painted sign with two little cartoon frogs holding hands, below the text "FROGS TOGETHER STRONG"
I know I used to keep them; hopefully they will stay.
We need to flag MMWR for data rescue if it’s not been captured already, and not by IA.
BREAKING: Friday night massacre underway at CDC. Doznes of "disease detectives," high-level scientists, entire Washington staff and editors of the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) have all been RIFed and received the following notice:

You would not fire these people—including the staff of the hugely, HUGELY important 'Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report'—if you cared at all about public health, if you wanted people to live.

And you would not let your thuggish henchmen fire people like this if you were a responsible president.

Should the New York Times be sold to Pennysaver and its editors sent to work in Amazon warehouses? It depends on who you ask.

It's pub day for my book, "Gilded Rage: Elon Musk and the Radicalization of Silicon Valley," which chronicles the rise of the tech right and their role in the 2024 election. Thanks to everyone who helped along the way.

Baffling I picked and remain in a deeply conservative profession full of people who believe that institutions will behave in ways they absolutely will not.

What drives me nuts about this dialogue: diversity and inclusion training was a corporate response to the statutory requirements civil rights laws. None of these laws have been repealed by Congress. Congress can pass the laws under Section 5 of the 14th Amendment, which has also not been repealed.
lol gentle reminder that DEI is not illegal. Supporting marginalized groups is not illegal. Anyone reneging on support is making a CHOICE to do so.

Hard to find a more obvious example of the journalism adage “If someone says it’s raining outside and someone else says it isn’t, your job is not to quote them both, your job is to go outside.”
A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.
This is a very good question, maybe the Totoro onesie needs a fancy fintech bro umbrella and not a leaf 🍃
For the No Kings protest do I wear my business suit so law enforcement takes me seriously or my otter kirigumi so fellow leftists take me seriously
Before we are anything else, I truly believe we are a nation of trolls. Proud, insufferable trolls. We can end this tomorrow.
I mean really.

HELLHOLE WARZONE AWFUL RUIN CITY BAD and it’s

a dude in a chicken suit and someone else in a frog costume.
The lesson from Portland is that trolling works. They want and expect violent resistance because it fits their narrative. They haaaate being laughed at.

Remember, we’re not stuck in here with them, they’re trapped in here with us. And we’ve got frog.
