Welp, after years of planning, pots of dedicated funding, promises that despite other elements getting yanked from the plans that sidewalk repairs were still on the table, the only sidewalk on LWB that got repaved this year was the segment right in front of Bruce's house.

What I first said in sarcasm I increasingly think is a real thing to consider:

Move SCOTUS to a strip mall in rural Kansas.

We can’t fire them. Impeachment* is functionally dead. The 18-yr term thing is a fantasy.

But we can kill a lot of their perks.

Bet Kav would retire fast.
Devastating piece on the human toll of Kavanaugh Stops.

Especially infuriating to know that rich white guys like Brett K can simply close their eyes to the human suffering their racist jurisprudence has unleashed.
For two months, the U.S. government has been racial profiling as masked federal agents hunted for immigrants throughout Chicago. They’ve repeatedly snatched up U.S. citizens while traumatizing communities. “I felt like a piece of trash.” Here is our story www.chicagotribune.com/2025/11/15/l...

I’m thankful for brave women like Lindsey Boylan in NY and Monisha Harrell in Seattle.

They stood up to men in power, held them accountable, didn’t relent, and helped defeat them. All at great personal cost.

Making a knit flower garland for a friend (think this shape:🌸) 🧶

Me reading through the pattern: “huh, they sure do mention a lot about how essential blocking is.”

Me half way through the knitting: “ah yes, I see why they said that so many times”

Attention WA/Seattle area!

Oscar is a 5 year old male (fixed) cat looking for a home! His owner recently passed away and my brother is looking for a new home for him. He's up to date on all his shots.

If you know anyone who is looking for a companion, let me know! Boosts are appreciated.

Harrell proudly said this has never been done before. There’s a reason for that. It’s an inequitable & ineffective idea.

We should be spending the money buying up/depaving parking lots & turning them into pocket parks, restoring floodplain habitat, adding bioswales, planting new trees in areas w/o.
I’ve been told I didn’t explain this well. Let me try again.

Bruce Harrell wants to spend $100k of OUR collective tax dollars to PAY wealthy homeowners to not cut down their trees on their property. He wants ME AND YOU to give OUR MONEY to rich ppl to preserve THEIR trees IN THEIR BACKYARD. 🤬😡🤬😡💢💢
Here's a link to the budget text (it's under SDCI): www.seattle.gov/documents/De...

I thought he was gonna bury this bc it's absolutely unhinged in terms of equity to PAY WEALTHY SINGLE FAMILY HOMEOWNERS to conserve trees on their own property, while low income neighborhoods suffer lack of trees.

I know this is a toughie for republicans like Suarez and reactionary centrists like Harrell, but the difference between individual citizens wearing masks and agents of the state wearing masks is that citizens are not required to identify themselves but agents of the state are.
Huge applause at Suarez' question about whether Harrell will require protesters to take off their masks like he wants to make ICE take off their masks

We need to tax billionaires to subsidize the hobby stores.

I’m confident it was his model train* hobby that insulated my retired-engineer grandfather from crackpotism. The red string board in his study was just connected to old trade publications about electric rail projects.

*electric trolleys
Think about how for decades, one of the ingredients of a crackpot was: retired engineer.

Retired engineers, for *generations* have been a fertile ground for crackpot theories in everything.

They get that golden watch and bam, incoherent manifesto about quantum archeology inbound.
