I am here to be silly and cheer for the Seattle Mariners.

The catcher and pitcher know it's gone, the fans know it's gone. But Geno... Geno is walking calmly forward. Gripping his bat in both hands. Watching the ball fly. Willing it further and further into the night.

He is the last person to celebrate what he has done.
What no Mariner has done before.

Re: Prime Week, I want to repost a couple of things, including a story I worked on in 2019, on Amazon injury rates.

I analyzed 2018 data and found major spikes on Cyber Monday and Prime Day, but I kept being afraid of overstating the finding. Screenshot is from revealnews.org/article/behi...

This is such a good read! A pick me up for any girl in love with baseball.
Mo'ne Davis spent years telling people that she was done playing baseball. She did not want to be forever defined by what she did as a 13-year-old in Little League, a decade ago, and she did not feel like there was space for her to do much else. And then she felt differently. On Davis and the WPBL:
Mo’ne Davis Is Finally Ready to Play Baseball Again
More than a decade after becoming a Little League sensation at age 13, Mo’ne Davis is set to make more history as the face of the Women’s Pro Baseball League.

Our neighbors in the Duwamish Valley have 13 years cut off of their life expectancy already thanks to living in the most polluted neighborhood in Seattle. It’s appalling that an agency would even consider this.
The Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition is organizing a protest this Friday at the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency Headquarters. which is considering allowing unlimited tire burning in the Duwamish Valley. Read more: www.drcc.org/clean-air-pr...

The number of curable ballots from Seattle has edged downward a little since midday yesterday. There's now just over 1,700 curable ballots, which still skew younger.

Happy Friday of Election Week! We expect to post around 100,000 ballots in today’s results update. That will leave around 120,000 ballots left to count, so we’ll have a large number to post on Monday, too.
