Pleading with people to understand the scope of this.

It won’t just be for immigrants.

They will use these camps to detain anyone they deem as an “other”.

The disabled. The homeless. Trans people. Political dissidents.

Your tax dollars will be spent incarcerating people without due process.
Breaking news: ICE expects to spend $38.3 billion on its plan to acquire warehouses across the U.S. and retrofit them into immigrant detention centers that can hold tens of thousands of people, according to agency documents.

I'd be willing to bet that only 3-4% of the Discord staff even think it's a "good" idea. If nothing else, I can't even imagine the infrastructure it's going to take to verify ALL of Discord's users.

I'm noticing several professional GMs — and I mean, people I know and LIKE — promoting their games with AI-generated images.

And that's a no-go for me: even for people I know, why should I pay you for your art and craft when you're not willing to do the same for others? #NoAI #TTRPGs

New track by @deadpioneers.bsky.social: "Nazi Teeth." After only one play, this is definitely one of their best so far, and fits my mood right now. Much thanks to Gregg Deal (and Stephanie Byrne of Cheap Perfume) for making these times a little more tolerable.

I'm not even mildly surprised by this. He seemed fragmented and irrational on the campaign trail back in 2016. And to tell the truth, he hasn't seemed all there for a long time.

It's frustrating to me how many good, smart people continue to use Substack, including many that I like to read. Substack is the Nazi Bar of newsletter services. Please, for the love of Joe Hill, if there's any way you can migrate to another service like Ghost, do so.
for the terminally online this is *far* from a revalation and also, i *really* hope that it will push more people to jump to another platform. there are places that will help you migrate your newsletter and don't profit off hate speech.

Only sort of true. Let’s not forget Jefferson’s repeated rapes of the enslaved Sally Hemings.

Except that back in those days, they didn’t consider raping Black enslaved teenagers a scandal.

And yet the GOP will continue to say, “Meh. Coulda happened to anyone.”
Good morning. The President of the United States was in the middle of the most serious child sex trafficking ring of the last quarter century.

He is referenced not a dozen times in the case files. Not 100 times. Not 1,000 times. He’s referenced 38,000 times.

I would love it if we started thinking of the British Empire as the go-to example of military evil. (As opposed to Nazi Germany.)

The British Empire is what the Nazis aspired to, but they were around for longer and on a greater scale.

If there was ever anything I hated about corporate diversity and anti-sexual harassment trainings, it was how they did their damnedest to check all the boxes and SOUND like they were doing something while not actually being serious about anti-racism/sexism

IOW, they needed to be more radical.
It is critically fucking important to get that people hated that stuff - and the general business Maoism shift of Late Woke - because of how incredibly insulting and demeaning it is to be lectured about your personal culpability in inequality by your evil corporate overlords. That's what sucked
“Diversity trainings were annoying” okay, name a work training that you loved to do?
