i've spent a lot of cycles puzzling on if it's cool to visit countries with problematic governments because people don't equal the government and ya know, i'm like, you should absolutely not visit the US under this regime.

my gift guide is you should buy cool stuff created by cool people on bluesky.

buy their books, their art, their old-school zines, their music, their nut mixes, a membership to their patreon, their off-kilter tote bags, etc.

(and if you have a thing people should buy, post it! right now!)

i have run afoul of wet leaves while riding a bike and ... it hurt, a lot, for many days. this is amazing.
Have you ever seen a bike lane sweeper - pulled behind a bike?

Volunteers in Kirkland have a new tool that attaches to the back of an e-bike. It's good for protected bike lanes, sidewalks, and narrow trails.

just here to remind you that you can waffle that leftover stuffing (either with or without an egg added) and it kicks ass.

making this cake for the third time in three weeks, this time it's for txgiving. HIGHLY recommend. it's not difficult and it's off the charts delicious. notes -- i doubled the cake recipe (not the crumb) and baked it in a springform pan, and the bake time is longer in my oven. use a thermometer.

my weird old dog has had issues since daylight savings time, i think he's struggling with the big dark. the single most effective thing getting him to chill is sitting with him on the couch. i don't object to this, but when i am working again we're gonna have to figure something else out.

is this in addition to having a "side hustle"?

[anyone who uses the word "polyworking" near me better run.]

"workers take additional jobs to supplement salaries for health insurance CEOs" is more like it.
