Just so we're clear, they're proposing a tax on speech.

"Anything we can actually do, we can afford." We can have a more equal, more prosperous, and more just nation as soon as we embrace this.
Keynesianism is like Ozempic in that it's something that works but makes people mad because they want moral hazard to be involved
There’s a certain kind of person who thinks Keynesian stimulus is “putting off” a necessary correction and I’m always amazed how many of them there are.

it shouldn't be difficult to understand that the ACA was very underwhelming for those of us who wanted nationalized healthcare and expected it, but also destroying aca as it exists would be terrible and kill millions.

ARPA: By creating a dense network with decentralised nodes, we can make a resilient communications system.

AWS: What if we used that same system to centralise all the nodes?
PSA: we're aware that Signal is down for some people. This appears to be related to a major AWS outage. Stand by.

Off year elections are both a voter suppression technique and really, really annoying.

seems that RFK is clearing the path for his CDC to do tuskegee syphillis experiments as a matter of course. in other news, RFK is a genuine monster who relishes in the pain and suffering of those he feels he has control or dominion over
RFK is undoing human subjects protections so he can conduct placebo trials of vaccines. That means infecting people knowingly. I wonder who will “volunteer” for these trials? If history is any guide, a lot of incarcerated and other powerless people.
Dismantling the Institutional Review Board (IRB), that oversees all human subjects research, is bad. Really bad.

Do you want jewels but aren't up for the challenges of stealing them from the Louvre?
Happy Saturday everyone! I have a jewelry shop focused on fused glass that I make by hand in my kiln.

I’m so excited about this. This is a real fucking crime, not some boring-ass crypto scam run entirely from a chair.

this rocks. when indiana edu killed the student newspaper, Purdue stepped up, printed the forbidden issue, drove it to Bloomington and stocked the boxes.

This is the thing I have the hardest time convincing people of even though the polls vindicate it: Mamdani's ability to distinguish himself from the rest of the pack early on with his position on Palestine necessarily entails a Democratic primary electorate receptive to his position in the 1st place
What mattered was whether or not the pro Israel consensus could stifle all of it. Historically it could. Now it really just can't anymore. Mamdani isn't the needle mover, Mamdani is the byproduct of the needle having already moved.
I hope they do!

I think Dracula could defeat Frankenstein but I don’t think Count Chocula could defeat Frankenberry and that speaks to the richness of the characters
For me 13th age is perfect rules wise because I thought 4e was the best designed version of D&D in terms of rules but play mostly “theatre of the mind” so 13th Age was a love letter to me essentially.
