Endlessly editing my light humor (hopefully) Sci-Fan time travel adv/rom series. Three volumes written, one* to go!

*No, I SWEAR, just one more!

...and it's gone!
Uninstalled the program from my computer and deleted my #Grammarly account.
And...well, since they *asked*, told them exactly why. 😁

They made... an AI tool... to make AI... which is already built on actual writing... seem less like slop...

JUST DO THE WRITING YOURSELF TO BEGIN WITH JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
No ocean boiling plagiarism machines for me!

Neat! This is what I yell at Grammarly every week as it suggests editing my voice out of my writing.
"I DON'T NEED YOU TO FUCKING REWRITE WHAT I'VE JUST WRITTEN!"
Yeah, the moment I saw that they're using #AI I decided I'm dropping them like a hot rock.

Not sure if I'm just the last to know or not, but I just got an email about how Grammarly is now under another company as a part of a "suite of AI tools." I haven't been using it for a while now, but I also went and deleted everything I had ever used it for and the account. Better safe than sorry.

Low bar but I miss when CEOs usually weren't public figures, did shitty things quietly and were secure enough in their shittiness to not lash out daily because people didn't like them enough. The money not being enough anymore was a real turning point in the history of corporate supervillainy.

I suppose that the magic of writing is all of those words flitting carefree from head to page.

The craft of writing seems to be deleting all the ones that don't fit.

The horror of writing must be never knowing if what is left is pure garbage. 😀

Whatever you do, please don’t stop reading.

Read for joy. Read for education. Read for resistance. Read banned books. Read books by marginalized authors. Read about experiences that differ from your own.

Just. Keep. Reading.

Also: why you should let writers be part of production, not a separate little wafty creative island. Solutions will present themselves. Imaginative ones. And ones that enable budgeting to be done properly.
I recall when Fuji film came out and was the lastest big thing because it leaned more into blues and greens. 😁
Okay, confess...
How many of you counted the books?

good first step. You have to do more and do better, @jukeboxprint.bsky.social. show solidarity with the community that is a huge chunk of your userbase; maybe hire some feature artists to do a monthly sticker design? Give discounts to art professionals? and get rid of your AI autoresponder.

With COVID-related visits to the ER already soaring to the high point of last winter, RFK Jr. (71) and Trump (79) are restricting eligibility for new, effective COVID vaccines mostly to those 65-and-older.

It's almost as if they're evil, corrupt, self-interested Republicans.
FDA approved new COVID vaccines today, then limited who can get them.
Kids 18 & under require doctor recommendation. 65+ eligible for any COVID vaccine.
18-65 and healthy? Tough luck. You gotta have at least 2 comorbidities to qualify.

The latest COVID vaccines come with new FDA limits
The Food and Drug Administration approved the next round of COVID-19 vaccines, but is restricting them to people at high risk for COVID complications.

I want to see those responsible sued into the next universe.
As in, still paying out when the Big Crunch/Bang occurs and the universe reforms itself. 😒
Me: this is great, glad to see authors ripped off by AI getting their due.

Me after using the search tool: I am one of these ripped off authors.

Academics, it only takes a minute. Seven of my papers are in this and I had no idea.
There are tons of graphic novels, academic papers, film and TV scripts, & prose novels/nonfiction on the LibGen list Anthropic used.

As settlement approaches, make it easy for the class action lawyers to contact you! Here’s how

Part 1: is your work in Libgen?

With news of a reported settlement with Anthropic I went back to check the class action form and it now allows authors outside the US to input their address, so it may be worth adding your known pirated titles (from the LibGen pirate database) www.lieffcabraser.com/anthropic-au...

Finally, a goal I can get behind.
Who says there's no good news anymore?
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.
