We mourn the victims of the mass shooting on Bondi Beach at a celebration on the first night of Chanukah, bringing darkness into a festival of lights. Our hearts go out to those attacked and their families and friends, as well as the entire Australian Jewish community.

I'd quite happily say that Nigel Farage is racist on TV.

Refusal to say something like this should be extremely alarming for the few people who don't already have serious issues with the labour party.

It's almost like there's consent manufacturing going on, that Israel is a bulwark against the evil Muslim hordes of which some of them have already made it through and are causing havoc.

It is fairly obvious that this is the narrative Israel is pushing to 'improve' its genocidal image in the West.
Sky News interviews the Israeli deputy foreign minister about the attack in Australia & she uses the opportunity to attack the "hate marches in London" & claim that 'globalise the intifada' is a call to kill Jews (it isn't).

All unchallenged by #trevorphillips, of course

We don't yet know the ethnicity, religion, or nationality of the two gunmen in Sydney, and their exact motivation is still unclear, but already David Seymour is linking this tragic event to the Middle East, and his followers are engaging in xenophobia and Islamophobia

Hey… pssst. The reason why the 5 year social media histories are only being asked of ESTA applicants is because the US government has been collecting social media information of visa applicants for almost a decade now. Once again, migration rights were the canary in the coal mine.

Justin Webb, in a far more consequential position as presenter of a flagship news programme, has repeatedly violated impartiality rules. If he had a similar warning, it clearly had no effect and he’s been allowed to continue.

Recently on here there's an increasing willingness to forgive and forget people who support(ed?) the genocide of Palestinians.

Worth going over how openly evil Israel was over the last two years and how obvious it was.

A really good explanation of why fascism is so far along in the UK.

And an antedote to Comfortable's claim we need the Tories for moderation. It lays out in great detail how the Tories were the architects of their own decline and empowered the fash.

The absolute most controversial thing you can be in that last decade is kind.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Robin Ince once more showing what an amazing person he is. It's tragic that we are in a world where opposing transphobia and hate means having to resign, while being transphobic and hateful means getting regularly featured by national media outlets.

How can this inoffensive man have become so viscerally loathed?
