The 1st amendment (which does many good things) is a great example of how everything is just a gentleman's agreement that will be enforced and interpreted based on who holds power in society.

We might as well enjoy the SpyCops inquiry while it lasts because the way things are right now, it looks like it’ll be the last sip of transparency we’ll get for the next two decades at least.
Videogames communicating violence is bad is very much about what the player brings to the game.
Like you can play any CoD single player campaign and think wow it sure is easy to die in a war, that's bad.

I've been reminded of the 2nd person sections in Complicity by Iain Banks and damn, they're quite something.
Shocking and disturbing but not in a cheap way. A really effective use of a type of language not used in fiction combined with imagery that would be unsettling regardless.
