I think often of the time a bunch of murder victims’ families showed Trump treasured photos of their loved ones and he signed them
Q: Do you plan to attend Sarah's funeral?

TRUMP: I haven't thought about it yet, but it's certainly something I can conceive of. I love West Virginia. You know, I won West Virginia by one of the biggest margins of any president anywhere.

If Joe Biden had claimed that he redesigned the hulls of Coast Guard cutters, we'd be way over in 25th amendment territory.
With Trump, it's so common that most Americans don't even notice it now.
Trump during his Thanksgiving call with service members: "We're ordered a lot of Coast Guard cutters. Brand new, beautiful, the best machines in the world. I'm a looks person. I wanted the hull to be perfect. You know, I sort of redesigned the hull a little bit. The hulls. But we ordered a lot."

As frustrating as it is that any progress women have made at the workplace & in the home, is constantly under attack by the Trump administration, it's just as baffling that there are women actively working to see their gender dragged backward, so they might continue to be awarded scraps from men.
A constant hostility toward women sits at the heart of Trump’s politics—and fascism, authoritarianism, and pretty much any organized form of oppression.

I feel much safer today knowing that we deported a Babson College student back to a country where she hasn't lived since childhood.

She wasn't even flying internationally. She was flying to Texas.

But the fact that CNN is amplifying it, shows how important NYT agenda setting is, and how much fault they deserve in this story being not covered for last 2 years as NYT was actively suppressing it.

We have very few eel-related metaphors English now. But there used to be many more.

One of my favorites is from William Lisle’s 1631 play "The Faire Ætheopian" where he describes a procession of haughty maids as being “smug as Eeles."

Have you ever been that smug? Has anyone?

An annual reminder:

The cognitive & emotional toll of staying in contact with abusive family can be both significant & difficult to recognize.

There's a kind of social contract that abusive parents have violated. You owe them nothing. Nothing.

Thanksgiving doesn't change that.
