I prefer being an ambiguous impression rather than give anything away. Good luck :D

Obviously what's happening at WaPo is very stupid, but ever since I saw from the inside how Elon and DOGE acted on USAID, a congressionally mandated federal agency, I knew we were in an era where everyone was going to get personally fucked by a billionaire at some point. So can't say I'm surprised.
One year ago today Gavin Kliger and his fellows at DOGE locked me and my colleagues out of our usaid.gov accounts as we attempted to push millions of $$ of aid to Gaza. The week that followed was chaotic, traumatizing, and so incredibly stupid. But we got that money out.

I say this as someone who was in JROTC, went to a military boarding school for high school, and then years later joined the actual military and went to actual war.

Learning about the laws on child soldiers makes JROTC look like a cynical way around those international laws against child soldiers.

He shouldn't pretend body cams are a real concession. He should follow the example of Van Hollen, whose visit to Kilmar Abrego Garcia was instrumental in triggering a national shift on attitudes toward Trump immigration actions. I could list more, but those are a few of the things he could do. [4/4]

Some people are asking what I want Schumer to do. He should be screaming over medical care and access to facilities. He should be going to detention facilities himself and putting his body on the line, as he did at the border in 2019. He should lean into stories about New Yorkers in detention. [1/4]

"rich dipshit owner doesn't understand the industry he's bought into and clumsily destroys what made it good" feels less like a narrative unique to the washington post and more like the music that's been playing in the background of all our lives for at least 40 years

Last year, I successfully crowdfunded my new, original, all-ages, adventure comic series -- ENDLESS FANTASIA! It follows the adventures of Jack and Jill, as they travel across a world of reimagined fairytales and fight Wolf demons! Lots of Sonic and Kingdom Hearts vibes! It drops later this year!

always bears repeating that this is NOT a financial decision. jeff bezos is worth over 250 billion dollars. he can afford to lose many millions and never even notice it. this is, at its core, a political and personal decision by bezos to destroy the post
WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Post says one-third of its staff across all departments, not just the newsroom, is being laid off.

hm, do I use someone's name if I'm talking about them for the benefit of folks that have a name muted, or don't use it to avoid being a magnet for namesearchers

...not sure what the preferred etiquette is, leaning the former

if it were me I'd prefer the former for sure, the latter can be blocked

now that I think about it, griefing people for not reading past the headline doesn't mesh all that well with the proliferation of paywalls

in that way, it's yet another systemic issue being individualized
