What stuck out to me is how Patel, in contrast to the other Trump people who the magazine has profiled this year, wasn't always a obviously disgusting person. But he's more pathetic than the rest of them.

The F.B.I. director isn’t just enforcing the President’s agenda at the Bureau—he’s seeking retribution for its past investigations of Donald Trump.

I just learned today that there are dozens of federal court cases determining which nationalities are white, arising out of the period 1878 - 1952 when only white foreigners could become US citizens. I wonder if any involved Afghans.

There was one year with my inlaws where there was an argument about punching nazis, specifically how best to. There were arm-swinging demonstrations. I poured some wine and kicked back in my chair for the duration.

it's literally never "THE RADICAL LEFT" it's always a nutcase, often one who has a history of voting Republican. it's not gonna be different this time and I dare Ross Douthat to bet his own money against me on that.

You'd think this but check out history of Kurds
The Trump administration effectively says that no one should ever work with Americans during wartime; that our promises mean nothing, our word is dust, and we will throw our allies under the bus the moment we want.

In any future armed conflict, who would ever trust us again?

I like to go out for a run on Thanksgiving morning. No weird ducks in the channel yet but it only just now got truly cold. If it snows as much as they say it's going to snow saturday, it might be a while til it's okay to run down the sidewalk again.

Okay! I admit it! You've tortured it out of me! Journalists are the most special important people in the universe! Please stop it now

We are staying home tomorrow! My sisters are taking their children to their husbands' families. My father is going back East for a college friend's 70th birthday. C is working on reducing contact with her mother. I am also quite set in my vegan-ish ways so Thanksgiving is fraught. It'll be nice!

put another way, the criticism that A.I. produces shoddy, overconfident, error-ridden outputs overlooks the relevant fact that so do many people who are currently employed, perhaps in a supervisory position over you!

It cracked me up to read that Martin Luther wrote that Henry VIII should just marry a second wife, because there's more biblical sanction for polygamy than for divorce.

"Oh you guys have real jobs" said the bartender when we told him we're a lawyer and a therapist. We kept talking. He's moved here from Fresno, to live life here as a gay man, it's easy to tell. I always find these baby gays so touching, with their hopes that the City will deliver on its promises.

I really wish someone would make a move of the 2019 revival of "Oklahoma!" I think a lot of people would benefit from seeing it, for example a lot of high school students. It's also kind of hard to justify theater ticket prices for something that makes you feel depressed!
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.
