Brazil approves the first vaccine against dengue. The disease killed 6000 Brazilians in 2024.

This is a really remarkable achievement. I got dengue in 2015, and even with the mild case I had, it was a really miserable experience.

This is a very good and important thread
THREAD.

3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.

We decided to call him Jim.

This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.

Market Basket was lit just now. The most important shopping evening of the year and the whole place is chock full of people who have never been to Market Basket before, who may have never once seen groceries.

I have bathed in the luscious bedlam and come out the other side warshed pure of my sins.

I am so ready for an overwrought teen horror show depicting an evil world run by an oppressive monster made of pure hatred and his henchcreatures - all of whom like to torture children while separating them from their parents and loved ones wait a minute

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

I run customer-facing teams and getting a deluge of complaint calls between Thanksgiving and NYE is literally a nightmare scenario that risks turning into a cascade (a couple people quit, more work for the rest, so a couple more quit, etc)

we will NEVER have more leverage than now through NYE
Spoke to my source familiar with internal workings at Mastercard. The holiday call campaign re payment processor censorship is working, there is a lot of pressure being felt from your calls. This is resulting in increased response times at a core moment for Mastercard due to the holiday season

Moments ago: tenants of the South Shore apartment building that federal immigration agents raided at the end of September held a presser to announce they're forming a tenants union.

They're demanding, among other things, sewage removal and heat and electricity restroration.

More updates TK.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.
