In just over a month, tens of millions of Americans will be priced out of affordable health care coverage because Republicans let critical ACA tax credits expire.

I wrote this legislation to stop that from happening.

Yesterday, I became the first member of Congress in years to visit the Broadview ICE Processing Facility so I could conduct critical oversight on what’s happening inside.

The American people need to understand what’s going on in our communities in the name of the United States.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Tommy and his wife would be $300,000 in debt if they didn’t have health coverage. Unfortunately, that may be the case next year, as Republicans are determined to let the health care tax credits they rely on expire.

House dems won’t give up the fight to save our health care.

As a therapist, Kate understands how mental health is often under-covered in our health care system as it is.

Now she’s worried her clients will have an even harder time affording the services they need, thanks to the Republican health care crisis.

Since arriving in Congress in 2019 as the youngest Black woman ever elected, I’ve had 19 pieces of legislation signed into law — delivering real progress on health care, veterans’ services, homeland security, and more.

House Democrats aren't giving up the fight to save our health care.

Health care is a human right — and it’s already unaffordable in this country. If this disastrous Senate CR reaches the House, I’m a firm no.

The question is will the so-called “bipartisan” Republicans in the House stand with us to save our health care?

Residents of IL-14 — have you received a letter your health care coverage is going to increase massively next year, or are you concerned you will soon?

We want to hear from you. Share your health care story with us here: forms.gle/YKcbKhvddHr6...

Charlie is living proof that education can transform lives. I’m so proud of his hard work — and even prouder that he’s using his success to lift others up.

Thousands of people across the 14th District and millions across the country are about to see their health care costs SKYROCKET if Republicans refuse to extend the tax credits in my Health Care Affordability Act.
November 3, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Republicans have shown they’d rather keep the government shut for WEEKS than work with us to lower your health care costs.

Laura owns a salon in Northern Illinois.

Her employees get affordable health coverage through the ACA tax credits from my Health Care Affordability Act — the same tax credits Republicans are letting expire.

How are working people supposed to afford these outrageous increases?

I am deeply concerned about Kristi Noem’s judgment, leadership priorities, and responsibility as a steward of taxpayer dollars.

For seniors in IL-14, the price of medications alone can be suffocating not to mention added premiums & co-pays.

Instead of fixing our healthcare system, Republicans are cutting Medicare & letting popular tax credits expire. Their actions will explode costs for folks like Cindy.

Illinoisans across our district are going to see their health care costs rise if Republicans let the tax credits from my Health Care Affordability Act expire.

For seniors like Cindy and families like Christina’s, this would be disastrous.

Top CDC scientists are walking out under RFK’s political pressure — and every day I’m pushing back on his and Trump’s agenda by working to lower your health care costs and expand access.
September 17, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Instead of backing Trump’s bill, I’m fighting to extend the tax credits from my Health Care Affordability Act—the very credits that helped more than 24 million Americans sign up for coverage this year.

Now, because of Republican inaction, your health care costs are going up.

As a registered nurse, I came to Congress to protect and expand access to affordable health care. I'm now in my fourth term, and I've had 19 pieces of legislation signed into law.

And I’m only just getting started.

I’m fighting for you every single day as your Congresswoman.

Donald Trump is using authoritarian fear tactics — deploying troops into major U.S. cities with Black mayors — to intimidate U.S. citizens.

It’s not about “crime” or homeless encampments.
