The absolute truth is Siri was basically my first friend in Los Angeles, and I can't imagine a bigger blessing because this means the majority of my social sphere here has been sex workers (hence my advocacy work). I really, truly have been blessed by such a wonderful, wholesome, lovely community.

I find fixed hitpoints a really good way to anchor a system, by which I mean avoiding having it bloat out in several directions all at once.
DnD is fixed by weapon damage dice, where all other numbers 'float and bloat'. Hitpoints move ever upwards as skill does, making balancing rather tricky.

For Gatherdarks ttrpg, I designed a health system that gives every player 9 hitpoints.
Damage is absorbed by defence rolls, armour and physical toughness (counts as armour) so there is no need for increasing hit points as well.
